Ian is interested with Daigo's pendant, because of this interest, Ian wondered if his father left anything else aside from that pendant. He then remembers that he left most of his stuff back in the island! With Daigo gone, can our heroes fight the MOTW whose ability is to create fakes, which has the ability to say the things that can make someone really angry?
Even though the title of this episode made it sound like that this is a filler episode, a lot of plot heavy stuff was revealed in this episode. First is with Daigo's pendant, for starters, Ian discovered that Daigo's pendant might be similar to the stolen jewel, which is now under Aigaron's possession. And here I was thinking that they will only bring that plot up in an episode focused on Ian! I will talk the second plot heavy stuff in this episode later in this review.
Now for the MOTW of this episode, to be honest, he reminded me of that MOTW from Shinkenger whose modus operandi is to find the word that can make the person fall into despair. In this case, the MOTW creates fakes and their job is to read the target's mind and tell him/her what makes her angry! Because of this kind of element, this episode is basically your standard fake Ranger episode. Speaking of the fake Rangers, I just love how their insults are literally branded into their faces, giving this really nice impression that the insult is really, really offensive.
Because of the insults, their teamwork is in shambles, and as for Daigo, he just met Chaos. Their first meeting showed us some of Chaos' abilities as Daigo is immediately tied by Chaos' spell before he can fight back. Thankfully, Torin arrives and saves his life before sending him back to his teammates. Before we can see an epic Torin vs. Chaos fight, Daigo arrived just in time to see his teammates quarrelling. Now that he has arrived, it is time for him to get angry, courtesy of the MOTW. What's funny about it is that Daigo is too slow to pick up that the fake Ian wanted him to get angry, and not for him to realize that he is a stupid leader and has a father complex! But it is because of this frustration that the MOTW's plot is revealed.
The team is now assembled, and it is now time for more fight scenes! One thing that I like about this fight scene is Black's gun slinging and quick thinking skills. He is wise to anticipate of a possibility that the MOTW is planning to use the fakes to cause some problems with our heroes. I just love the slow motion effects added just to make Black's shooting skills look jaw dropping. At the end, they were able to destroy the fakes, and later, the MOTW thanks to the Kentrospiker.
Back to Torin vs. Chaos, the fight between the two established their long rivalry. Granted, we only saw some energy blasts, you can feel the hatred these two have for each other and that's enough to set up a rivalry, which might be brought up in later episodes. This is when the second plot heavy stuff comes in; the MOTW is just a distraction so that Chaos can unlock a seal of one Voltasaur! What he unlocked is the powerful Pteragordon, the explanation how he ended up in that state is still unknown. Hopefully, we will get some answers in the near future.
As for our heroes, they ended up fighting the giant version of the MOTW and a fake Dogold, which is not as angry as the original. Because they are now cornered, Torin decides to help by ordering them to use the Ovirappoo Beast Battery. As the name suggest, this battery is based on an Oviraptor, a dinosaur that is said to like to steal eggs and poo. Put them to together, we have Ovirappoo! Much to my surprise, this Beast Battery makes sense. I mean, a spoiled egg smells so bad, just like someone's fart! Speaking of which, I just love how Torin just calmly tells them to put a brave fart to defeat the two monsters!
At the end, our heroes defeated the two giant monsters thanks to Kyoryuzin Macho. After this, Ian tells Daigo that he will update him if he learns anything new about his pendant. But that is not our concern for now because Chaos just gave Dogold a special Deboss Beast Battery! What's interesting about it aside from the colors is how Chaos obtained such battery, and why the heck Dogold ended up getting interested with the battery after he activated it? Is it me, or they are building up something big for a future episode that has something to do with KyoryuGold?
