Ninja Sentai Kakuranger 16 – Sasuke's Comeback

Bad. Ass.

Sasuke is powerless, and he must save his teammates from the Shuten-Doji brothers. With only a handful of tools in his hand, can he overturn this bad situation to his own advantage?

This is one amazing Sasuke focus episode, and it didn't help that it is about him trying to save his teammates! What made it more amazing is that he is injured and lastly, he is being chased by the Flower Kunoichi Gang. In short, he needs to do a subtle approach if he wants to save his friends. I just love that we saw more ninja stealth skills in this episode, something I missed with some modern ninja manga that I read every week. Sasuke just observing the current situation before doing his plan is one of those times that make you think. I mean, what can Sasuke do inside those pipes with some medical supplies?

When we actually see him execute his plan, this showed us his creativity as a ninja on how he can turn only a handful of tools and put it into his own advantage. With just those tools, he is able to save his teammates without the enemies noticing a thing! Did I mention that he finally saw Prince Junior, the supposed leader of the Yokai? Anyway, now that his friends are free, it is time for the big payback!

What I love about Sasuke is that he is over confident and even times he looks like he is at his weakest. Now that his friends are free, it is time for him to pull off the hammiest introduction that he can do. It's so hammy that I love every second of it. So how Sasuke introduced himself and the rest of his teammates? I will not say it because it is so glorious that you should watch it yourself. After the team transformed, it is time for the fight scenes!

The fights are really amazing, but the main highlight here is Sasuke's fight in the episode. The use of clones to distract the Shuten-Doji brothers before pulling off one big finish is one amazing sight to see. Because Sasuke defeated the Shuten-Doji brothers, it is time for the giant fight! Dr. Yugami has prepared some upgrades for the brothers. Though the upgrades are strong, and gave the brothers an advantage, it is Sasuke's quick thinking that got them out of their situation. At the end, they were able to defeat the brothers and they finally left the forest where they are trapped for two episodes.

Now that our heroes are aware of the identity of the supposed leader of the Yokai, our heroes must train harder... especially for Jiraiya, Saizou and Seikai! Well, Saizou and Seikai needs more training compared to Jiraiya in my opinion! Back to the bad guy lair, the Flower Kunoichi Gang reported to their boss about the failure of the Shuten-Doji brothers, and reverts back to their original forms. For a group of ninjas named after flowers, I am quite surprised that their original forms are cats and not the flowers they are named upon. Oh well, at least it fits well to Junior's personality considering that he is one classy villain with a rockstar personality and appearance.

P.S. The inner Naruto fan in me can't help but giggle every time I hear Sakura (the pink Flower Kunoichi member) is looking for Sasuke. In addition to that, I also giggled when Sasuke create some clones to fight the Shuten-Doji brothers.
