Kamen Rider Wizard 31 – His Tears

Haruto's magic is now gone, Koyomi's mana is running low, and Legion continues his search for something that is beautiful. Oh, and this episode marks the debut of Kamen Rider Wizard Infinity Style.

Haruto's depression of losing his magic is expected. It is no surprise that he still wants to fight Phantoms even though he doesn't have the ability to fight one, leaving Kousuke aka Beast the only capable being (as of now) that can fight Phantoms. For most part of the episode, Haruto kinda did some soul searching on what he will do next now that he doesn't have any more magic. This is when the kids from the previous episode showed up.

Haruto's talk with the older brother just gave him better insight that it is more than just magic that made his sister happy. It is because of someone's kindness who is trying to cheer her up before her big operation. While this is all happening, Beast is fighting Legion. The fight in this scene is really well done, and showed us how influential Haruto is to other people. In this case, Haruto's current state affected Beast's performance when he is fighting the Phantom. At the end, Beast didn't manage to defeat Legion because his foot was pinned by the Phantom.

Later in the episode, Koyomi is worried about Haruto's current state that she decides to leave the antique shop. Haruto finds Koyomi in the same place where Koyomi tried to kill herself. The scene between Haruto and Koyomi just put more emphasis that Haruto's kindness is what's more important than his magic, the only difference is that Haruto is hugging Koyomi tightly, and that Koyomi is giving her final words before she dies.

Legion appears and interrupts this really emotional scene. While Haruto is getting beaten up by Legion, Koyomi tries her best to reach Haruto, only to lose her remaining mana at the end. Because of Koyomi's "death", Legion asks him to give up, only for Haruto to declare that he will not give and from his tears, a new ring is created. Because he has a new ring, obvious his magic is back. Wow, this is one cliché way to have someone's magic back. As for the proper in-show explanation courtesy of WizarDragon, it just made my cheesy interpretation of how he got his magic sound less cheesy.

With the new ring, Haruto transforms into Kamen Rider Wizard Infinity Style! Unlike his other forms, there is no need to flick the ring's visor before he transforms. What's cool about the Infinity Style is the chanting of the sounds of his 8 other forms while his magic is cutting him his diamond armor. Since he is wearing diamond armor, it is no surprise that Legion's weapon is not effective with his armor. Aside from the diamond armor, he also gains a new weapon in the form of the AxCalibur. Just like the Mirage Magnum, the weapon is a physical manifestation of the WizarDragon to our realm. Like what its name suggests, it's an ax that doubles as a sword. So yeah, AxCalibur is a cooler weapon compared to the Mirage Magnum.

As for the finisher, the first thing that came to my mind is what can beat a finishing move that allows a Rider to Rider Kick his opponent to the sun? I mean, if Infinity Style is Wizard's final and ultimate form, it is expected that it can top that kick. Instead, we have Wizard spinning his ax and in every spin, it becomes bigger and bigger before doing the ax finisher. To be honest, I find the finisher weaker compared to that Rider Kick to the sun. Hopefully, Wizard Infinity Style's other finishers are better compared to this one, I find doing a high five to your ax-sword weapon kinda cool.

Anyway, Haruto gives Koyomi some of his mana, and everything is indeed back to normal... or so we thought. In the bad guys’ lair, we learned that Wiseman just assigned Gremlin to be Misa's superior. Um, why the heck he will do that?! Does it have something to do with the Philosopher's Stone? Also, what is this Philosopher's Stone? I mean, they keep on talking about it and Gremlin and Wiseman are the only ones who are aware of its existence! Before I can expect some explanation, it seems that the next episode is a filler arc. Great, just great, something this show needs two episodes after the debut of Beast Hyper.
