Voice Actor Shuuichi Ikeda Joins Madhouse's Hunter x Hunter Anime Cast!

It was recently reported that Shuuichi Ikeda (Mobile Suit Gundam's Char Aznable) will voice Kite in the upcoming anime adaptation of Hunter x Hunter's Chimera Ant arc!

Kite is the disciple of Ging Freecss, the father of the show's main character Gon Freecss. Kite is the one who influenced Gon to become a hunter in the first place. In the original Nippon Animation adaptation of the anime, Kite was voiced by Yuuji Kishi (Street Fighter's Ken Masters, Carranger's Red Racer) who appeared in the show's first episode.

Some meta stuff about the casting, Megumi Han is the daughter of Keiko Han, the actress who played Char's love interest Lalah Sune. To put it simply, the new Hunter x Hunter anime will feature Char and Lalah's daughter! Outside the series, Ikeda acted like a father to Megumi as he is the one who gives her advice when it comes to voice acting, and is happy that he will be playing a father figure character to her character.

The anime adaptation of Hunter x Hunter's Chimera Ant arc will premiere on April 21.
