Kamen Rider Wizard 21 – The Legend of Wizard: Four Swords

Self explanatory.

Wizard is miraculously saved by the White Wizard and brought him in a safe place. Meanwhile, Rinko learned that Yugo Fujita is a Phantom. What will she do next? Will she run away or fulfill her duty as a cop?

Is it just me or Kamen Rider Wizard is starting to pick its pace after Kamen Rider Beast's debut? I mean seriously, for the past few weeks, most of the story arcs always end with a new upgrade form. The last time upgrades became a bit significant was during the time they introduced Flame Dragon. After that, the later upgrades felt a bit predictable even though their introduction contributed something with the overall plot. I don't know, maybe the victim of the arc plot made the series a bit boring for me.

The series started to become interesting again after Beast's introduction, which lead us to this episode. Granted, the victim of the arc plot is still boring, but the inclusion of the White Wizard and the continuation of Rinko's investigation to a man named Yugo Fujita. First is the White Wizard in this episode. After his introduction, I am one of those guys who wondered who is the man behind the mask. The only clue we have about him is that he is related to Wiseman in some sort. The only difference is that he is helping Haruto.

In this episode, we finally see him use some of his magic. Unlike Haruto whose spells always end with the magic word "please", White Wizard's spells ends with the word "now", giving me this impression that he is not asking for casting a spell, but commands it. It also gave me an impression that his mastery of magic is higher compared to Haruto. In addition, his meeting with Beast made me conclude that there might be other wizards out there. I mean, he just called the guy an Archetype Wizard, which means that he has the knowledge of other wizards around. It didn't help that he is aware about the Chimera residing Kousuke's body!

The reason why he helped Haruto is that he knows a way to unlock the full potential of the Dragon residing Haruto's body. Guess the introduction of the other Dragon forms all lead us to this scenario. One thing I observed is that the Dragon Rings are positioned in the magic circle in the order of their gems in the circle. It's a really nice touch and adds up the mysticism of this series. What's more, it seems that Haruto is transported in a magical realm that no can enter. The only one who knows this place is the White Wizard.

After White Wizard's appearance in the magical realm, and Haruto accepting the White Wizard's challenge to unlock the Dragon's full power, they proceed to a magical ceremony to unlock the Dragon's power. The mystical gibberish added up to the mysticism of the ceremony. As for the ceremony itself, it's kinda eerie, and has this sense of danger going on. What's more, we see this scene of Haruto trying to resist all the elemental attacks created by the Dragon. The scene looks really cool and showed us Haruto's willpower as a human being that at the end, he overcome the challenge and finally created an item that can tap into the Dragon's full power.

The item that Haruto created with the help from the White Wizard is the DragoTimer. I will get into this item later once Wizard fights Beelzebub in this episode. Now comes the part about Rinko. For once, we saw her stand up on her own when it comes to facing a Phantom. Granted, she is not aware that Yugo and Phoenix is the same guy, but the fact that she can show resolve in front of a Phantom is really something. Because of her resolve, Phoenix is amused and tells her Beelzebub's familiars that can control humans.

Though she doubt it at first, but after removing one from Shunpei, she starts to believe him a bit more. This leads us to a couple of hilarious scenes featuring Shunpei and Kousuke trying to remove the familiars to some of the girls, only for Rinko to remove it and kill it. Did I mention that Rinko can be aggressive when it comes to killing enemy familiars? After this, she returned to Phoenix's place and thanked him for the help.

For once, we see Phoenix teary eyed after hearing someone thank him for something that he did. This scene also showed us that Phoenix is more than just a guy who just wants to rampage; he can be emotional in some aspects. The conversation between Rinko and Phoenix is really well done. It is like I am watching two friends share their problems about their jobs; it feels natural that I really like it. Their conversation ended with Phoenix realizing that he needs to be more of himself and follow what his heart desires, and that is to rampage. And yes, Rinko now knows that Yugo is Phoenix. The only disappointment I have with this scene is that it ended with a cliffhanger! Dang it, I want to see what happens next!

Now that I am done with Rinko and the Phoenix, let's go back to Haruto and the rest. Much to their surprise, even after they destroyed the familiars, Beelzebub was able to regain control on the humans once possessed by his familiars. As it turns out, just as long as he can transfer bits of his mana in humans, he now has the ability to control them. To put it simply, killing Beelzebub will undo everything. Much to my surprise, Beast is easily beaten by Beelzebub thanks to his warp holes. I mean seriously, he has the Chameleo Mantle and he can use its cloaking capabilities in his advantage! But nope, he keeps on using his Dice Saber even though he received a lot of hits coming from his own attacks.

Thankfully, Haruto arrives just in time to save the Gate from the angry mob. After transforming into Wizard Flame Dragon, it is time to see the DragoTimer in action. One thing that I like about the DragoTimer is that Wizard can't just call all his other forms in one move, there is a perfect time to call one of them one by one. The only time he can call one of them is once the hand of the timer reaches the color of the Dragon form. It's one neat concept and I really like it.

After summoning all Dragon forms every 10-15 seconds, and see them show off their skills for at least 20-25 seconds, with Land Dragon getting the lowest screen time, it is time to do a Dragon Four-mation! Dragon Four-mation is basically calling all of WizarDragon's parts in each of the Dragon forms and do cool moves with it. The Dragon Four-mation scene is really amazing, and each Dragon form doing moves related to their element made it more memorable and cool at the same time. Lastly, the four Wizard Dragons before a simultaneous Slash Strike finisher, which defeated Beelzebub.

After defeating Beelzebub, we returned to Rinko who witnessed Phoenix's first rampage after understanding that he needs to be more of himself, and not let others dictate what he will do next. The question is will Rinko survive after Phoenix's first rampage or will she die in the hands of the Phoenix? The wait for the next episode is killing me!
