Bakuman S3 15 – Beating CROW

The quest to save CROW begins.

Because of the determination of the authors and editors, they will do everything to stop Niizuma from ending CROW. The question is, whose manga can stop Eiji's CROW to rank 1st place?

This episode is seriously fun, from what approach each author will do just to be CROW. In Fukuda's case, he will do with a new bike and a new character, in Hiramaru's case; he will do it with his art. In Takahama's case, it has something to do with the case that he is saving for this kind of moment. As for Ashirogi, it has something to do with testing a new character in their planned unorthodox battle manga in PCP. Their approaches just to be Niizuma are really interesting but much to their surprise, they weren't able to beat CROW when it comes to rankings.

Though I haven't read CROW or any of the manga published in this fictional Shonen Jump magazine, it makes sense why people prefer CROW over the other manga titles. By the looks of it, the series is getting closer to its climax and since this is a shonen manga, the action gets more intense every chapter, and people can't wait for the next issue to come out.

Even if that is the case, the good news is that their overall rankings are improving, and they are getting closer to the number of votes needed to surpass CROW. The only thing that is left is to a better gimmick to have an advantage. In this case, it is to get the cover page and the center color spread of the magazine. Kinda agree with it because it draws readers to read the manga, and might improve the rankings of the manga. But considering what happened to Detective TRAP last season, I guess this approach will not always work.

Truth to be told, it didn't rake enough number of votes for Road Racer GIRI to rank first in the polls. As for PCP, since they weren't able to get the cover page and the center color spread, the closest thing they got is having a color page in an issue before Niizuma can write his final chapter. But the question is what will be the content of that chapter? This leads us to Mashiro's idea to incorporate the color page in the chapter, something that most manga authors rarely do. After hours of frustration, they were able to figure out a way on how they will do it.

To be honest, I still don't get it at first on what's with the color page they made. It looks simple and stylish, and there is nothing special in it. That is until Hattori reads the contents of their storyboard and figured out what they are planning. The only clue we viewers have is that it has something to do with 9 hours and 00 minutes. Now that the storyboard is approved, it is time to do the manuscript! Can this chapter defeat CROW when it comes to rankings?
