The Creation King is disappointed with Gorgom's current progress because of Kamen Rider BLACK destroying their plans every week. Because of this, the Creation King has no choice but to undo Sword Saint Birugenia's seal. Who is this Birugenia and why he is a dangerous threat?
The first thing I observed in regards to Birugenia's debut is that the three Gorgom Priests fear him. There must be something in this guy that caused this trio to be afraid. As it turns out, he is also a candidate to become a Century King, the problem is, he is born 30,000 years early! Compared to the previous enemies Kamen Rider fought, he is one of those enemies that plan ahead on how he can defeat his enemy. In the case of this episode, he used his sword and shield as bait to lure Kamen Rider. In addition to that, he used the Black Cat Mutant to test Kamen Rider's skills.
As expected, Kamen Rider defeated the Black Cat Mutant but it is not his kick that did most of the damage to the Mutant, it is Birugenia's sword. And thus my friends, Birugenia makes his entrance. I just loved the fact that he appeared in front of BLACK in a casual manner, did some attacks and leave. As it turns out, this is part of his plan to defeat BLACK. Now that he has enough data about him, it is time to execute his plan. My only problem with it is how he determined that he has enough info about BLACK? I mean, what BLACK with his fight with the Black Cat Mutant is just some of his skills and not his entire arsenal of skills!
Back in the cafe, Kyoko mended his wounds but before it can fully heal, Kotaro left after hearing the news from Kyoko that some man is calling Kamen Rider BLACK and that he has his sword and shield. So yeah, this is yet another obvious trap to lure Kamen Rider out! But before talking about it, it seems that Kyoko and Kasumi figured out that Kotaro is indeed Kamen Rider BLCK, they just don't want to talk about it. Aside from Kamen Rider BLACK's suit actor making a cameo in this scene, we learned that once an ordinary man touches the Biru Saber, he or she is now under Birugenia's control. Well that is one cool way to give your enemy some trouble!
Birugenia finally arrives and the duel between these two begins. The duel between these two is quite entertaining. Even though it is entertaining, I am a bit disappointed with it when it comes to special effects. I can understand the limitations during that time, but I can't help but be disappointed when it comes to Birugenia's clone trick! Is the move an illusion kind of move or did he actually create Birugenia clones? It didn't help that the fights involving this trick felt like a single Birugenia spinning around and not three Birugenias cornering BLACK!
At the end, BLACK's skills were able to destroy Birugenia's clones and his alternate dimension. But before BLACK can deliver one final blow, lightning struck the both of them, forcing Birugenia to retreat. Whoever sent that lightning from the sky seems like he is so serious when it comes to Birugenia's eventual defeat. But folks, this is not the last time we will see Birugenia and if I will just base it on his debut episode, guess we should expect a lot of great things coming from him. Back to the cafe, Kyoko continues to act like she is not aware that Kotaro and Kamen Rider BLACK is the same person, but gives Kotaro an advice to take care of himself. Quite a subtle advice I say, Kyoko!
