The first Gym Leader that you will face in the game is Hakudan City's Viola (right), a Bug-type specialist. Seen in the left is Pansy, a girl who will be appearing the anime. She is seen with Gogoat and Helioptile in the screenshot from the anime.
Next is the game's new features, featured in the video above are Sky Battles and Horde Encounters. Sky Battles is basically a fight featuring a battle between a Flying-type Pokémon and a Pokémon that has the levitate ability.
Second is the Horde Encounters, in which players can encounter at least 5 Pokémon of the same species leading to a 5-in-1 Pokémon battle. Seen in the trailer above is a horde encounter featuring five Houndours.
Seen in the Ninetendo Developer Roundtable video above is the new P.S.S. (Player Search System), which allow players to search for other trainers locally or globally via Wi-Fi to battle or trade their Pokémon. You can split the trainers online into Friends, Acquaintances and those you Pass By. They can then be promoted all the way up to friends as you interact and can hold up to 100 friends.
Pokémon X & Pokémon Y players are able to choose between languages in the game itself: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, or Korean.
What's a new Pokémon game without well... new Pokémon! First up is Talonflame, the evolved form of Fletching. This fast Fire/Flying Pokémon knows Brave Bird.
Skrelp is a Poison/Water Pokémon, and can learn Sludge Bomb.
Clauncher is a Water-type Pokémon that can learn Crabhammer.
Vivillon will have two stages of evolution. It's Basic form is Kofukimushi and it's 1st Stage form is Spewpa.
Shishiko is a Fire/Normal Pokémon. This lion cub has a move called Battle Cry that can lower the opponent's attack.
Furabebe is a Fairy-type Pokémon. This lone flower knows the move Fairy Wind.
The game takes place in the Kalos region, a region that intriguingly looks like a star. In this new region, players will discover new species of Pokémon and with that, a new adventure awaits them!
Pokémon X and Pokémon Y will be released worldwide for the Nintendo 3DS in both retail and on the Nintendo eShop starting this October 12th.
