A new Pokémon anime TV special will air this July 11th at 7:00pm on Japan's TV Tokyo channel. Entitled "Mewtwo: Prologue to the Awakening", this 2-hour special is connected to the Pokémon the Movie: ExtremeSpeed Genesect: Mewtwo's Awakening.
This special is set before Mewtwo meets Pokémon franchise protagonist Ash and his friends in the upcoming film's storyline. It will focus on Mewtwo's history, goals, and how it became the strongest Pokémon.
