Kyoryuu Sentai Zyuranger 50 – Long Live the Dinosaurs!!

Long live the dinosaurs, Kyoryuu Sentai Zyuranger!

In the final episode of Zyuranger, Geki, Goushi and Dan are struggling in the demiplane while Mei and Boi are busy with the rope. Thanks to Barza's help, they were able to fix the rope problem and all that's left is their search on the Guardian Beasts. Can they save the Guardian Beasts and finally beat Bandora & Great Satan?

The final episode is really fantastic as it started with something really intense as they continued with what was left hanging in the previous episode. What made the scene really impressive is that Boi's palms are bleeding as he tries to pull his teammates out of the demiplane. But what stole the scene is Barza's appearance as he helped Boi as they used his staff to tie the rope and place it on position where they will only exert minimal effort in pulling the Zyurangers! It's a really smart move coming from the trusty sage but the biggest problem is the monsters the Zyurangers are facing.

I find it quite a downer that they were beaten by Goushi's axe even if in the previous episode we see them having a hard time fighting these ghosts. But what the heck, just as long as it advance the episode! Back to the guys who are pulling the rope, Barza's staff now has a crack and finally, we saw Barza cast magic, something we barely see him do because according to Bandora, he "lost" his magic millions of years ago. Granted, his spell worked but it made me wonder what happened in the past that cause him to lose his magic.

Since they are done with the monsters and that Barza's spell made their job a lot easier because his staff is now a large log, all that is left is to save DaiZyuJin, Dragon Caesar and King Brachion! Our heroes then spotted the orb were the Guardian Beasts are trapped and Bandora detected their presence inside her demiplane! Well that took her quite a long time for her to notice their presence! She then sends Grifforzer and Lami to fight the Zyurangers but this is not the plan of our heroes.

The first thing I notice is their teamwork, while Goushi and Dan are busy fighting the two, Geki finds a way to get on top of the plane were the orbs of the Guardian Beasts are located. This is when Geki asked Goushi and Dan to give him a boost. The first thing that came to my mind is that he needs the boost is for him to have enough power to beat Grifforzer but nope, he use the boost for him to have enough jump power to jump at Grifforzer's shoulder just to reach the plane were the orbs are located! This is seriously impressive but it is then ruined when I saw the toy models swinging around after they are freed from the orbs.

With the Guardian Beasts freed, Bandora is pissed off and she ends her son Cai to battle. It is time for the final battle of our heroes against Bandora and Great Satan. The final transformation scene is really amazing thanks to how it they shot it. It's taken in an angle that made the scene really epic. The final call on the Guardian Beasts is really amazing, they didn't rush it and I like how they made close up shots on each Zyuranger when they call their respective Guardian Beasts. For one last time, we see the Guardian Beasts fight as individual mechas before combining into the DaiZyuJin.

The final fight between the DaiZyuJin and DoraTalos felt a bit standard, there is nothing flashy, and it's just your ordinary giant robot battle in Super Sentai. Geki then summons the Dragon Caesar to aid them in battle and just like the previous, it felt a bit standard, it is not that intense like what I really wanted to see. Great Satan finally steps in and does his hair thunder attack thing. Finally, our heroes summon King Brachion then form the Ultimate DaiZyuJin to finally finish Great Satan and DoraTalos! Wow, it took them a few seconds just to finish this. No dramatic tension or anything, they just finished the two guys in one overkill finisher and that's it.

The defeat of the DoraTalos might also mean Cai's death as Bandora is quite emotional as she is now worried that this is the last time she will see her son. Much to my surprise, Cai is still alive and is struggling to live. Since Cai survived, we have this emotional scene between the two. At the end, Cai ended up in his mother's arms before he breaths his last. It's quite devastating on Bandora's part that she will not see her son again, causing her to mourn over his death.

As expected, ruining this scene are the Zyurangers who crashed on Bandora's Palace and wanted to have a final battle on Bandora. What I didn't expect is Bandora not being able to cast any spells. For the first time in the history in this TV series, DaiZyuJin acted like a jerk on the right person! He is the one who revealed that a witch will lose her power once she cries on someone she loves and in this case, it's Cai! Powerless, DaiZyuJin used this opportunity to seal Bandora and her gang inside an urn and throw them in outside Earth! This move made sure that no stupid human being will open that urn every again... unless it landed on some planet and it has some beings living on that planet.

Inside the urn, it seems that Bandora and her gang are having a great time as Bandora is singing while the rest are playing their respective instruments. Bandora promised that she will return to Earth once she regains her magic in the future. But this is all interrupted thanks to Grifforzer and Lami showing off their new baby! The first thing that comes to my mind is when Lami got pregnant with Grifforzer's child? But because the baby is so darn cute, I forgot to think about it when I watched that scene!

Same goes with Bandora; she forgot her hate towards children and just adores the cute little baby. Even Bandora has a weakness over a cute little baby! Because of this scene, I suddenly remembered the Super Sentai 199 Heroes movie pamphlet that if Machiko Soga (Bandora's actress) is still alive today, they want her to play some villain role for the movie. Since I am not aware if Queen Hederian is alive at the end of Sun Vulcan, this made me think that what if they wanted to bring Bandora in Super Sentai 199, along with Grifforzer and Lami's child since hey, the kid is at least 20 years old during the events of Super Sentai 199 or they can bring him in in Kyoryuger if the writers wanted to!

With Bandora and her gang sealed inside an urn and go gaga over the baby, our heroes rejoice and it's time to see the dinosaur eggs hatch! Seeing Satoshi's smile in his face of seeing the dinosaur eggs come out in their shells. It's an amazing sight since it reminded me of how chicks get out of their shells for the first time. Since the dinosaurs are now alive, the Zyurangers entrusted them to the kids because their mission here on Earth is finally over. Wow, I am not sure what is running on their minds but they can just entrust these eggs on someone who is more capable on taking care of them, like biologists or to some paleontologist for crying out loud! These guys are more capable for the job!

At the end, our heroes left our planet and went to the heavens as the Guardian Beasts are waiting for them. For a final episode of the series that lasted for at least 19 minutes less the opening credits and the preview for Dairanger, they were able to wrap the series really well. They were able to tie up some loose ends less the origins why Barza lost his magic at the first place and that the episode is neatly half into two parts, the first part is the final battle and the second is for wrapping up in the series. It's really wise thing to do in the series, especially if you are maximizing the limited airtime. Tommorow, I will post my final thoughts about the series.
