Kyoryuu Sentai Zyuranger 44 – Goushi, DoraChimera & a Female Swordsman

The idols of different kids are slowly disappearing for some reason, as it turns out, the one responsible to it is the DoraChimera whose ability is to absorb the abilities of the humans that he abducted and his current target is a kendo expert named Sayaka! Can Goushi protect her from the DoraChimera?

The first thing that I observed in this episode is that the episode doesn't involve a kid of a week like other Zyuranger filler episodes, instead we have a girl around high school as the guest star since the DoraChimera wants her sword skills. This is when Goushi comes in to protect her and they had a rocky start. Sayaka doesn't want Goushi's help during the times she is injured thanks to the DoraChimera's ability to use the abilities of the people he abducted and magnify it.

Even though the two had a rocky start, because of Goushi being dedicated to protect Sayaka that he even waited outside her dojo, she has no choice but to let Goushi protect her but in one condition, he must be stronger than her. One thing that I notice in this scene is that it feels like I am watching a budding love story between Goushi and Sayaka. You might say that it is love at first fight, or something like that. To add up the love atmosphere mood, Goushi waited for Sayaka and stayed even if it started raining. To make it extra special, Sayaka brought an umbrella for Goushi and him promising to protect Sayaka!

The next day, it is time for Sayaka to face Goushi because of their agreement in the previous day. The first thing that Goushi noticed is the killing intent in Sayaka's eyes, which I first thought that it is natural since she is fighting someone. The duel between Goushi and Sayaka is fun to watch, the close up scenes are quite good and as expected, they used that distant shots for us not to notice that Goushi's stunt double is now fighting. Umm, I can notice that it's Goushi's stunt double since his double has longer hair compared to Goushi.

As it turns out, the reason why Sayaka has this killing intent in her eyes is because she is controlled by the DoraChimera! Since Goushi promised to protect Sayaka, he did everything for Sayaka that is possessed by the DoraChimera to wake up and that includes catching a blade with his hands. It's one admirable stunt since after learning that she is just being controlled by the DoraChimera, all he did is to evade her attacks and the said blade catching scene happen that released Sayaka from DoraChimera's control.

Much to my surprise, the other Zyurangers appeared when the show has at least 7 minutes and 30 seconds left! All they did in this episode is to fight the DoraChimera for Goushi because he needs to chase Sayaka. Goushi's final scene with Sayaka in this episode summed up the episode perfectly. It's about Goushi protecting a girl from an enemy and the girl fell in love with him based on how she hugged Goushi. It's not a hug of some friend, but a hug of someone who doesn't want the man he loves to leave. But Goushi has a duty as a Zyuranger to defeat the DoraChimera.

Goushi made quite a good entrance when he saved the other Zyurangers from the DoraChimera because he shot the DoraChimera with the Moth Breaker! His comeback ended with his single slash with his Moth Breaker. Wow, that was fast considering the guy absorbed a couple of guys who are the best in the field. The giant battle in this episode is just fine I guess. The only thing that I can note is that they added some snow effects in the fights and we have a bad snowman DaiZyuJin. At the end, Goushi and Sayaka are back to the normal lives. Wow, that was fast and I seriously want them to continue their relationship!
