The Mighty No. 9, Mega Man's Spiritual Successor

Mega Man creator Kenji Inafune revealed in this year's PAX that he, Inti Creates (Mega Man 9, Mega Man Zero series), Comcept and 8-4 are working on a new game called The Mighty No. 9, a spiritual successor to Mega Man.

In this game, you are Beck who gains different powers and the ability to after defeating bosses. He also has a sister named Call. This 2.5 game will also have former Mega Man staff members, namely Manami Matsumae for the music, Naoya Tomita for the level design and Shisuke Komaki (Mega Man Battle Network, Mega Man Legends 3) for the art.

Currently being developed for the PC, there are plans for the game to be released in consoles, that is if the Kickstarter campaign will reach its stretch goals. The game is slated for a Spring 2015 release.

UPDATE: The Kickstarter campaign already started! The campaign will end on October and it's plan is to reach at least $900,000. As for the console version, their goal is to reach $2,500,000 for them to release the game in the consoles.
