It's about Utchy... and this kid right there.
Utchy gets culture shocked because of a kid being too spoiled by his parents that he can't do anything all by himself! Thanks to Debo Kewtie, his parents are taken away from him and start spoiling the Debo Monster! To make matters worse, the monster has Utchy's changer! Can the boy stand up for himself in this occasion?
Even though this is an Utchy episode, it feels more like an episode focused more on the kid and less on Utchy. For most part of the episode, it is just Utchy trying to lecture the kid to start to stand up for himself and not depend on adults too much on things that he can do for himself. Even if that is the case, the only time the kid start to stand up for himself is during the time Utchy is in serious danger and not during the time Utchy gave him a set of instructions of stuff that he can do.
Aside from the kid, this episode is also a reminder to the parents that spoiling their children too much will affect his/her personality. The kid will become too depended on adults that s/he can't think or do something for himself. The lack of independence of children is that shocked Utchy because likely back in his day, kids can still stand on their own on things that they can manage to do. The kid in this episode is so lazy that he can't stand on his own or even throw his trash in the nearest trash bin.
For the Utchy side of things, his culture shock to what's happening around him is one element in the series that they didn't explore. I mean he is a samurai out of his own timeline and now stuck in the modern world. I was expecting when he first made his debut that he will have problems adapting or will be curious on what's new but nope, he managed to adapt the modern world too easily. Having him deal with monster parents and a spoiled brat is quite weird in my opinion. Are there any overprotective parents in his era? I mean, there should be at least one.
Aside from his culture shock of how some parents are over protective to their children these days, he also talked about human weakness and our desire to become stronger. It's quite a nice lesson for this episode considering the kid of the week's actions. Also, he still remembers the guilt he had when his master died. At least they still remember it and not throw it out in the closet after he managed to move on to the present and not let it haunt him the rest of his life.
The monster of the week, Debo Kewtie is your traditional cute monster with an evil appearance kind but with some minor changes. Instead of just a simple face and minor alterations in her body, she just flips around with her other body and that her new appearance is really a different body with matching new move sets. In her baby form, her moves are just attracting parents and using her rattle as a weapon but in her adult form, she uses a whip and has this kiss that can control people. The plot of making the parents of spoiled children adore Debo Kewtie is one smart plot. Aside that they are gathering sadness; they are also gathering happiness at the same time. If they are still trying to resurrect Dark Species Deboth, they just killed two birds with one stone with this plot.
As for the fights, they are quite creative and showed us some new aspects in our character. First up is with King, if there is one thing I learned from this fight is that he still has some common sense left in him as shoot the Debo Monster after seeing her transform into her adult form. Second is with Utchy, even though he hates it, he has no choice but to stun the adults that are surrounding him. It showed us a different function of the Gaburi Changer, that it can summon lightning outside of the transformation sequence or when it comes to summoning the Zandar Thunder.
The creative stuff in the fights comes with the use of the Beast Batteries and the use of mecha combinations. The creative stuff with the use of the Beast Batteries is with Stymero as they use they played with the concept of its ability to make someone fall in love at someone at first sight in a really smart manner. Lastly, when it comes to mecha combinations, this episode introduced us to Pteraidenoh Bunpachy. It's move sets is simply Pteraidenoh swinging the meteor hammer around and as for its finisher, it's just one strong strike of the meteor hammer. At the end, the kid is now more independent.
