Kamen Rider Wizard 42 – The Novelist's Hope

Also more Koyomi.

Koyomi is taking in more mana unlike before and that Kousuke is more dedicated to look for the mysterious White Wizard. Meanwhile, a popular novelist is the Gate of this arc and if the cameras and how the episode is directed, it seems that he is related to Koyomi in a way.

Continuing what was left in the previous episode, the case about the missing Agent Kizaki is brought up but it's not the main focus of this episode. But that's not the main focus of the episode; the main focus is about the novelist. The novelist is one hard headed Gate whose goal is to look for the girl that gave him hope to continue on writing. What's interesting is that after the Gate's flashback scene, or any scene related to the novelist, most of the time, the next scene has something to do with Koyomi. Because of this, I have this impression that Koyomi will play an important role later in the episode.

More on the Koyomi scenes, it's about Koyomi becoming worried that she is taking in too much mana unlike before. If there is one thing that I am bothered with it is that there is no explanation on why Koyomi is taking in more mana compared from before. I mean, if she is just an average doll, I think her body can only contain a limited amount of mana and if she takes in too much of it, it will destroy her body. But that's not Koyomi's case; she is taking in more mana as time passes by. Because of this, I am starting to think that her need for more mana in later episodes might be related to her connection with the White Wizard.

As for Kousuke's search for the White Wizard, he is basically clueless and asked Mayu if she has any ideas about his whereabouts. The only thing he got is that she is not aware where she was trained by the White Wizard. In short, she just teleported back in our realm after her training ended. Things start to become more interesting thanks to Sora. It becomes interesting because he said that he knows where the White Wizard is hiding. Considering that he is quite informative, I guess it is possible that he knows where he is hiding. Sadly, the revelation on where is this place will be revealed in the next episode.

Aside that the plot is finally moving in a really good pace, the action in this episode is surprisingly brilliant. The form switching and the use of the Wizard Rings are really fantastic. Compared to the previous episodes, it's not a chore a watch and it gets you excited on what combos they will pull off next. Lastly is the ending of the episode, it confirms the fact that Koyomi is somewhat related to the Gate. If the flashback scene is the basis, it can be simply summed up as Koyomi is the girl that gave the Gate hope. But the bigger question is why Koyomi is clueless about it?
