This is a Saizou episode. Oh well.
Saizou ends up helping a ninja start his own ninja dojo and with a little help coming from his team, they were able to convince a couple of soccer players to learn the art of ninjutsu by showing some of their best moves. This is when it gets interesting as this week's MOTW mastered the team's moves!
As you have noticed with all of my Kakuranger reviews, my least favorite Kakuranger is Saizou and since this is a Saizou episode, I expected that I will still hate the character, but it will still be one amazing episode... and I was right. Just like the Amakiri episode, it is partly Saizou's fault on why they ended up in this situation. He just wants to help a man earn money with his ninja dojo so that he can send her wife to a decent hospital. This then lead us to scenes wherein we see the Kakurangers show off their skills and that even without the costumes, the Kakurangers are still one impressive bunch of ninjas.
Speaking of those scenes, those scenes are really amazing. What I like about it is that it gives you this feeling that they are indeed the ones inside the Kakuranger costumes and not their respective suit actors. Their actions match well with the in-suit footage and that you can legitimately say that they are a bunch of ninjas. Now for the plot of the episode, one thing that I am bothered with it is that how can the Yokai be so sure that Saizou will fall to their trap? I mean, Saizou was just passing by when he ended up helping this rundown ninja dojo! But what the heck, at least Saizou fall to the said trap and give us this amazing episode.
Because they helped an old ninjas gain some students, guess this means that this episode will end. As it turns out, they are attacked by a group of Yokai led by Sarugami! To make matters worse, they all know their moves, including the powerful Kakuranger Ball! The fight scenes are once again impressive but what I am bothered with the fight scenes is that they didn't use their finisher that involves Sasuke's bike ramming the opponent? If the Kakuranger Ball is just stolen by the bad guys, then why not finish them using that weapon? I mean, they haven't showed it to kids plus, it's been a while since we saw that move!
Because they were defeated by the said move, they decided to investigate on how the heck the bad guys learn their moves... well to be more specific; it's Jiraiya who did the investigating. This is when they learned that the old ninja that they are helping and his family are actually Yokai in disguise! This is when we saw Saizou realize that him being so naive is his weakness. Well about time for him to realize it! But nope, his teammates are fine with him being naive because it is one of his good points. I don't see why Saizou's naiveté is a good point, but hey, at least it is because of this that they thought of a really good plan!
This is when the fun starts, they pretend that they were beaten badly and decided to teach the imposter a much stronger version of the Kakuranger Ball! The training sequence is seriously hilarious. It's hilarious in a sense that the Kakurangers are acting like a bunch of buffoons but Sarugami didn't notice that they are just acting till they pull off the big reveal at the end of the episode! What's more is that the way to perform the new and improved Kakuranger Ball looks really ridiculous. I mean, you need to do a dance while your teammates are kicking the ball? That is simply ridiculous!
After they fooled Sarugami to his death, we have the giant battle featuring the Juusho Fighters. The only thing worth noting is that Battle Rougan is the one who did the finisher and not Battle Sarudar. At the end, all the kids they met want to become ninja and this time around, Saizou is now more cautious about it if they are Yokai in disguise!
