Rurouni Kenshin Movie Red Carpet Event


Takeru Satoh and the cast of the live action adaptation of the upcoming Rurouni Kenshin film appeared on the red carpet pre-screening event last June 27th. Takeru Satoh stated that he was very happy and that all the cast members did their best working on the film.

He also added that he really likes the character and hopes that he performed an ideal Kenshin. He commented that he is sincerely happy to be in the movie’s worldview and wants to share it with everyone, and that he’ll see everyone in two months!


Meanwhile, Emi Takei said she thinks that Kenshin is cool and that she loved playing Kaoru who is pure and straightforward. It was Koji Kikkawa first time walking down such a long red carpet, and he said that it was a lot of fun. Chief director Otomo is confident that people will be surprised even when they are expecting something.

Rurouni Kenshin follows the story of a fictional assassin named Himura Kenshin, from the Bakumatsu who becomes a wanderer, offering protection and aid to those in need as atonement for the murders he once committed as an assassin. The film premiers on August 25th in Japan.
