Choudenshi Bioman 12 – Exploding Balloons & Humans?

This episode is about these two... and some balloons.

Because of some exploding balloons, a cop got interested in it and starts an investigation, only to get caught by the New Gear Empire. Later, Green Two thought that he accidentally killed a boy's father!

Gear's latest plan looks kinda childish on the outside but its childish nature is what makes the plan effective. So how the heck a plan involving giant balloons effective? To put it simply, people will just stare on a giant balloon and think that it is not something that is suspicious... until it explodes after popping! And that, my friends is why this plan is seriously effective that even Doctor Man is impressed with it!

Because of exploding balloons, a cop decides to investigate only to get captured by Gear. For once, we finally saw how Gear makes its Mecha Humans. It's basically them copying the overall appearance and some of the personality of the human and releases it in public. The only problem with this plan is that instead of killing the original human source, they just put them inside a cell and that's it. I am not sure what's the point of letting them alive but I guess that some of them know some vital information about something and that they need the information. But in the case of the cop, they can just kill him to silence him, but nope, they put him inside a cell.

Shingo aka Green Two becomes involve with it while the Biomen are investigating about the exploding balloon case. This is when he meets a kid who is looking for his father, who happens to be the kidnapped cop! To cut long story short, he is attacked by Mecha Humans while he is doing his investigation. Part of those Mecha Humans is the Mecha Human version of the boy's father. Before he faced these Mecha Humans, we see a scene of the fake cop telling his "son" to run away. I guess this scene was made to convince the kid and some viewers to think that this cop is the real cop. It kinda makes sense at first but take note; he knows the location of Gear's base. I mean, why the heck they will free the guy who will cause their demise?

As Green Two, he fights the Mecha Humans but just to make sure, he uses his Super Electron Scope just to confirm that he is fighting Mecha Humans. At the end, he killed the Mecha Human under the guise of the boy's father... and the boy saw it. Though Green Two tried to convince him that he is fighting a robot, the boy is not convinced because the fake cop told him to run away.

One thing that bothered me in this scene is that both the boy and Green Two saw an explosion after the fake cop died. For starters, humans don't explode once they got slashed by someone and second, Gear will not do something as sadistic as strapping a bomb on someone considering that they let humans live after their bodies are duplicated by some machine. But for some reason, Green Two is convinced that he accidentally killed a man. Seriously, you saw the guy freakin' explode in front of you and humans only bleed and not explode once they got slashed by someone!

Because Shingo thought that he killed a man, he becomes depressed. Seriously, I said it once and I will say it again, the guy exploded. No ordinary human will explode for crying out loud! Even with that depression, he continues to fight when Gear began their attack. For starters, I love how they incorporate the playground equipment in battle. But the one who has the most problem is Green Two because he needs to fight more Mecha Humans. Considering what happened earlier in the episode, he has a hard time fighting these Mecha Humans and Aquaiger used it in his advantage.

Because of his performance in battle, Shiro suggested to prove that he killed the fake cop. This is then followed by Green Two's infiltration scene that he keeps on spamming the Super Electron Scope. Wow, the guy has little faith in this ability earlier and now he keeps on using it to search for the real cop? This is seriously weird in my opinion. But thanks to this, he found the real cop and to cut long story short, they were able to save the victims from the New Gear Empire and finally fights the members of the empire.

The fights in this scene are fun to watch, especially Green Two's fight scenes. Seriously, he did a lot of great wrestling moves and his boomerang move is one of the reasons why they were able to beat Aquaiger in this episode. The giant battle in this episode is quite creative as it featured some floating object attacking the Bio Robo but they were able to finish it by using two finisher moves, one for the main robot and the other with the floating object. At the end, the boy finally met his father. But seriously, the boy lacks common sense for thinking that his "father" died by exploding.
