Bakuman S3 12 – Nanamine's Complete Defeat

In this episode, Nanamine finally pits his manga with Ashirogi with the same setting, same story kind of setting. Can Nanamine beat Ashirogi in this kind of setting or will he experience complete defeat?

What am I talking about, Takagi already pointed out the obvious, too many contributors on a single story can destroy it in the process and that's what happened to Nanamine's manga in the end. And yes, he is completely defeated that Nakai is so worried about their ranking that he did something desperate. To have a chat with Nanamine's contributors and tell the truth about the current status of the manga, causing all of them to leave. Speaking of these guys, as I have anticipated, they don't consider Nanamine as their friend that they just left after knowing the current status of the manga. Well, it is Nanamine's fault in the first place because he lied on the guys who are helping him for crying out loud!

At the end, he is left alone, with his editor. For once, we saw how hot-blooded Kosugi can be. This is something I didn't expect that he will do. I mean, if he can act and sound so assertive in this scene, why can't he become assertive during the time the ranking of Nanamine's manga is on a downward slope? But whatever, it is because of his hot-blooded attitude that Nanamine continued the manga and will write it till it gets cancelled.

During the New Year's party, we finally meet Nanamine and tell Ashirogi that someday, he will beat them with his own hands. Guess this will not be the last of Nanamine in this series. Aside from this party, Ashirogi will also attend their elementary school class reunion. Much to my surprise, their classmates are aware that two of their classmates ended up becoming popular manga authors with PCP. Speaking of which, we see the impact of PCP to other people... and realized that Mashiro and Takagi didn't enjoy their youth to their fullest since it is all about manga after third year middle school.

But what the heck, they are pursuing their dreams in an early age; there is nothing wrong with that. The episode ends with a news report about a crime that was inspired by the actions the protagonist of Ashirogi's popular manga, PCP. Yep, this is expected especially during the height of the manga's popularity.
