The Coelacanth Mutant is collecting girls to turn into Gorgom soldiers and one of those girls is Katsumi. To make things more interesting, the Coelacanth Mutant's human form is her own professor! Can Kotaro save her and the rest of the girls?
Birugenia didn't appear in this episode and even that's the case, this episode is really fun to watch. What's great about this episode is that it showed us the consequences once a person volunteers to become one of Gorgom's Mutants. Aside from having side effects and the person trying to maintain his human appearance, part of the bargain is giving the cult something in exchange. In this case, he must turn women into Gorgom soldiers. Sounds like a nice bargain to me if you ask me.
Anyway, this is when the plot of the episode starts to kick in. the Coelacanth Mutant wants Katsumi to be part of this Gorgom project and thanks to this, Kotaro discovered this week's Gorgom plot after Katsumi is hospitalized thanks to the Coelacanth Mutant. One thing that I like about Kotaro's first meeting with the Coelacanth Mutant is how they shot the episode. The way they shot the episode give us an illusion that Katsumi is floating around and that thanks to the Mutant's powers that Kotaro is stuck in one wall.
Kotaro later tracked down the Mutant and discovered the full details about this week's Gorgom plot. But before he can save anyone, he must fight some robot scientists. What's great about this scene is how they revealed the twists that these scientists are robots. What's great about it is we see Kotaro having this surprised expression after accidentally ripping off the scientist's arm. Another thing great about this scene is the action sequences, it's well choreographed and it's intense that you are at the edge of your seat while watching it. Did I mention that Kotaro didn't transform into Kamen Rider while this is happening?
While trying to escape the evil robot scientists’ gun fire, he ends up meeting a couple of kids who were modified by Gorgom to not age. These kids left quite a great impression on me, especially in the final minutes of the episode. These guys are trained soldiers, who after years of being under Gorgom finally decided to rebel against them. It's like they finally had enough of Gorgom using them for their scientific purposes and that they are just waiting for the perfect opportunity to fight back. If only these kids have more screen time in this episode.
At the end, Kotaro and the kids rescued the women and defeated the Mutant, but sadly, one of the kids died. But Kamen Rider will fight for his sake. Now that they are free, the kids finally continued their postponed childhood. As for Kamen Rider, his fight continues.
