Kamen Rider BLACK 09 – Pendants and Street Queen

And before someone writes a fanfic based on this picture.

A strange pendant with a pearl is being distributed. Inside the pearl is a small wasp that can give someone fever and to some extent, can kill a person. Later, a girl who wants to be declared the street queen ends up joining Gorgom because of the said pendant!

If there is one thing I notice in this series is that every episode, Gorgom's plot gets weirder and weirder. But hey, it's the 80's, I can't blame them if we have such ridiculous destruction plots! Gorgom's plot gets interesting thanks to some girl who wants to reclaim her throne as the street queen after she was beaten by her rival in one dance battle. The reason why she ended up becoming a Gorgom member is because of Bishium convincing her to sell pendants in the street. After the episode ended, I still don't get how selling pendants can reclaim her throne as the street queen.

Even though the plot in this episode is really weird, it makes more sense thanks to Bishium's revelation that the pendant can kill all those who wear it after 30 minutes! One thing that I like about the revelation is that Kotaro is under the clutches of two civilians and at the same time, the girl is listening to the revelation! What's admirable about this scene is how the civilians are willing to risk their lives just to inform the masses about the dangers of the pendant.

Thanks to their move, the girl now wants to inform the masses of the dangers of the pendant! Though she ends up meeting her rival again, who just happens to buy herself her own pendant, what made it interesting is that the Wasp Mutant abducts these two! Thanks to this, the two are starting to become closer because of their involvement with the Wasp Mutant. As for Kamen Rider BLACK, he has some difficultly in fighting the Wasp Mutant thanks to its stingers. At the end, he defeated the Wasp Mutant and that the two rivals are now together as their groups now formed a single group.

With the focus on the guest characters, what can I say about Kotaro and Bishium? Kotaro still stays the same as his sense of detecting of a possible Gorgom plot is still intact. As for Bishium, her plan is interesting but a 30-minute deadline? Why can't she make it lower than 30 minutes just to add more danger and thrill in her plans? Oh well, the episodic nature of the series is causing me to lose some interest in rewatching the series. Hopefully, the next episode will interest me.

P.S. Spotted Tricera Ranger Dan in this episode as one of the dancers. Also, can't believe that I am laughing at cheesy 80's dance steps.
