Kamen Rider BLACK 06 – Espers and Artists

Also, we have this eagle monster.

Artists are being abducted by the Eagle Mutant since Gorgom's plan has something to do with their skills and ESP. Meanwhile, someone witnessed the abduction of an artist, who happens to be her boyfriend. With that in mind, her life is in big danger.

When I saw the Eagle Mutant abducting artists, the first thing that came to my mind is that the plan in this episode is something that is really ridiculous. I am sorta right since the plan has something to do with turning artists into espers. The esper thing makes sense but the reason why they need to turn artists into espers is something that bugged me for some reason. I mean, they will develop their talents, place them in some electronics company to destroy their technology using their ESP is really stupid. For crying out loud, there are still American companies who are busy developing new technologies and destroying small Japanese tech companies will not hinder the technological progress of mankind!

As for the execution of this plan, it is just two guys fighting each other in a mental battle. Though it might sound boring at first, the way they presented it made it intense and interesting to watch. Just as planned, the two espers were able to destroy the blueprints that these Japanese electronics company made for years. For some reason, their success didn't feel worthwhile to watch. Again, destroying the blueprints of two Japanese electronics companies will not hinder the technological growth of mankind.

For the witness of the artist's abduction who happens to be her boyfriend, she reminded me of the girl we had in the previous episode. Unlike the one from the previous episode, she underwent hypnosis so that she will not have any memory of what she saw and that she will commit suicide later on. Her attempt to commit suicide is really weird as she decided to try and drown herself while her mother is just standing there not doing anything aside from screaming for help. Thankfully, Kotaro saved her.

The fights in this episode interesting; aside that the night fight in this episode is well lit, I just love the wire work for the Eagle Mutant's flight scenes; it made the fights in this episode interesting. At the end of the episode, the artists are now back to normal. What bothered me is how they reverted back to normal since the only thing the Eagle Mutant did is to abduct them and to stun them with some eye attack. Also, what happened to the lab that is producing these espers? That part in this episode was left unresolved... unless they will bring this up in a later episode.
