After our heroes defeated Dark Species Deboth, the ones left are Canderrilla, Aigaron, Luckyuro, Debo Iceage and a couple of foot soldiers. With that in mind, it's time for their revenge. Meanwhile, after what happened in the previous episode, Dr. Ulshade now wants Yayoi to be his successor as KyoryuViolet but Yayoi is having doubts if she can live up to their expectations.
This episode is basically the aftermath of the previous story arc since it culminates all of Yayoi's character development into this single episode. Granted, she still has the same confidence issues but unlike the issue she had from the previous episode, it has something to do with her succeeding her grandpa. In just a short time, we are aware what her grandpa achieved and living up to that name is quite a task. Add the fact that her grandpa is confident that she'll be a fine KyoryuViolet.
More of the succession thing, the episode properly explained why Yayoi should become the next KyoryuViolet. After what happened in the previous episode, which is her using her bravery to power Plezuon, it really makes sense why she must succeed her grandpa. It's kinda like the case with King wherein he needs to gain Gabutyra's trust back in the show's first episode even though he defeated him fair and square. The only difference this time around is that Plezuon trusted Yayoi to be his partner, but Yayoi thinks that she is not ready. It's a nice contrast to what happened earlier in the series and I like it.
Unlike the previous episodes where King acts like a catalyst to Yayoi's development, Amy is the one who fills in this role for this episode. What I like about it is that the previous episodes kinda established that the two will become rivals for King's affections, but the episode plays it like outside from being love rivals, they are teammates and I like that Amy kinda disregards it without her thinking about it. Heck, she even saved Yayoi in one scene! Even though Amy arrived just in time to save Yayoi, she failed to rescue her from Debo Iceage. This leads us to the first major fight in this episode.
Thanks to Debo Iceage's plan to turn tears into ice, Aigaron can't cry and we finally learn what will happen if he doesn't shed a single tear... and I like where this is going. I just love that he's now a knight full of rage now that he can't express his sadness. His rather suicidal attack and how angry he is on KyoryuBlack, you know, the usual way for us fans to remember that a rivalry between Aigaron and KyoryuBlack still exists. As for King, he arrived after Aigaron is done with his suicide attack. At least the reason why he is late is justified.
We also saw more of Ian's smartness and how it saved his teammates from an angry Aigaron. As for Yayoi, she is still crying and lucky enough; King and Amy arrived just in time to save her. This is when Amy's becomes Yayoi's catalyst for her character development. What I like about this scene is that Amy only said one sentence and Yayoi just figured out what to do next. It's kinda similar to what she did in the previous episode but this time, it has something to do on her dreams and on how she looks up at her grandpa. It's a really nice scene and showed us that deep inside, she doesn't want to be the girl who assists the heroes, but she also wants to become like them.
Because of her conviction of wanting to become a hero, she escapes the ice and joins the rest of the team. Now that all seven of them are together, it is time for Yayoi's first transformation sequence. Her first transformation sequence is kinda looks like she waited for her teammates to finish their dancing before she hits the trigger and transform. As for her roll call, it's not hammy like her grandpa's but it feels too sexy for her character.
When it comes to her fighting style, it's really interesting. The way she used the Gaburicannon like a bayonetta is really great, what's more is she used the combo in her own advantage when she defended herself from the foot soldiers. My only disappointment with her is that she doesn't have her own Armed On weapon even though she is using the same system like what the modern Kyoryugers have. Hopefully she'll have her own Armed On since the Kyoryuger HBV kinda has an Armed On for KyoryuViolet with the rocket arm thing.
Lastly is the giant fight, the Plezu-Oh Bunpachy is just an interesting arm swap form thanks to how they use the Bunpachy Ball. But what comes next is something that kinda surprised me. Seeing Yayoi inside the Kyoryuger cockpit is really cool. What I like about it is how they were able to fit 7 standing guys inside that cockpit and make it work, which they did. Now I am starting to wonder how they'll place 11 (or 12) Rangers in that same cockpit for the final episode since that's the likely scenario. At the end of the episode, Yayoi leaves temporarily since the new Plezuon Lab is being constructed and according to Doctor Ulshade, she needs training to become a fine KyoryuViolet.
