Oh snap...
Messiah's attempt for his complete revival is almost over. The Ace is badly damaged and Hiromu needs to rest. Can the remaining Go-Busters defeat 10 enemy Megazords whose aim is to fuse with Messiah for his complete revival? Can the Go-Busters finally defeat Messiah once and for all?
If I will summarize this episode in a single sentence that will be, "It is like episode 30 with more mecha battles and less plot twists." It is like episode 30 since it deals with shutting down Messiah for good... and it has more mecha battles. What makes it different from that episode is their focus on Hiromu and his motivation in fighting Messiah, like it is some final mission given by his parents before they died. Hiromu being desperate to be in the battlefield even though he is badly injured is something that I like about this episode. But thanks to Nick, he soon realized that this might be not his parent's final wish. Maybe it is something more important than shutting down Messiah, but it has something to do with living his life after the events that happened 13 years ago.
Before talking about the mecha battles in this episode, I'll talk about some technical stuff that we see in this episode. I just love that the maintenance crew still exist in the series. Aside that we see them repair the Go-Buster Ace's shoulder pads and leg, we also them give clearance that the Megazords are ready for battle. Also, we see Jin do some maintenance himself and I really like it. Now that everything is ready, Nick decides to fight without Hiromu piloting the Ace. If my memory serves me correctly, this is the first time Nick decides to pilot the Go-Buster Ace alone.
The mecha fight in this episode is seriously amazing. Aside from the epic background music, we see a lot of great mecha fight choreography. The writer remembering the Go-Buster Ace Stag Custom still exists is something really cool since we only see this formation once! They then went with the Go-BusterOh formation and see more great fights and then, we see them form the Go-BusterKeroOh. Seriously, I didn't expect this formation to appear in the TV series in some form! It didn't help that they have more incoming enemy mecha while they are doing this array of mecha formation changes!
But there are some enemy Megazords that the 4 Go-Busters didn't defeat and ends up combining with the Zeta Megazord and finally form the Messiah Reboot! Messiah Reboot is basically a combination of the four main Vaglass Megazords, the Zeta, more field data and an Enetron tank. Thinking about it, Messiah Reboot looks like something that Hiromu dreamed of when Messiah is transported to our world. This is something that this episode pointed out when Hiromu is ready for battle. With that in mind, it is time for him to defeat Messiah once and for all.
Hiromu finally understanding that he must defeat Messiah but for him to that, he must live is something that I like. Now that Hiromu is here, it is time to form the Go-BusterKing. What I didn't expect is that the Go-BusterKing didn't defeat Messiah nor even scratch it. The only thing it did is that the Go-Busters are now back in their civilian forms less J. The major highlight of this scene is the Go-Busters not giving up to defeat Messiah; it is then followed by one epic team roll call. It is so epic that it sends shivers in my spine.
The Go-BusterKing continues to be defeated by Messiah but thanks to its defeat, it is then followed by one quick mecha formation of the Go-Buster Li-Oh. Much to my surprise, it pierced Messiah Reboot's chest thanks to the boost given by the Go-Buster Beet's crane arm. What's amazing about this scene is how they use the hole the Boost Buster Sword made and to shoot Go-Buster Li-Oh's chest blaster to finally finish Messiah Reboot. It didn't help that the screaming and the intensity of them putting every single Enetron energy they have to finally finish Messiah once and for all made the scene more epic!
At the end, Messiah dies and the Go-Busters are still alive. What's interesting is that it is the 3 main Go-Busters who defeated Messiah Reboot and not all 5 of them. It makes sense since day 1; it is about the Go-Busters and their mission to defeat Messiah once and for all. Messiah's second defeat is made special because he is defeated on the day he first made his appearance, on the day when Hiromu, Ryuji and Yoko's lives were changed forever. Thinking about it, I am starting to notice that the show had a couple of Biblical references.
Anyway, their Christmas party in the orphanage went on smoothly and that Hiromu's sister made an appearance after months of wondering where she is right now. Even though Christmas went on smoothly as planned, one character related to Messiah is back with a new hairdo. That's right, Enter is back and two of Messiah's cards are still inside his body. In short, J indeed picked up Jin's data signal and not the data that it is finally snowing.
Enter's return didn't surprise me at all since hey, the guy has 2 Messiah Cards in his body and if there is one thing I learned from the Gavan crossover is that Enter is one tough nut to beat. Based on Enter's actions, it seems that he will have a new personality, a less fun loving way based on how he tossed the Santa hat and I can't wait to see that new Enter in action!
