JoJo's Bizarre Adventure 12 – Welcome to Mexico

JoJo left is his home in New York for some Mexican sand.

Joseph now heads to Mexico to investigate about the Pillar Man that Speedwagon and Straits discovered. Meanwhile, the Pillar Man's resurrection is almost complete thanks to the Germans.

Before Joseph can reach the place where the Pillar Man was originally located, he is being followed by a Nazi soldier. His fight with this guy is interesting because it shows us that even though he has limited knowledge about the Ripple, he can use it in ways that makes him look like that he is a Ripple master. Thanks to this German soldier, Joseph knows the current location of the Pillar Man and learned that Speedwagon is still alive. With that, he is more determined to save Speedwagon from the Nazis and if there is one thing that I notice is that the more determined Joseph is, the more awesome he becomes in battle.

Meanwhile, the Pillar Man finally awakes. Though he is billed as the Ultimate Lifeform by Stroheim, he doesn't act like one for the first few minutes. It makes sense considering that he is in hibernation for centuries and he needs to adjust to the new environment that he is in right now. Since Stroheim awakened this being, he decides to give it a name and since they are in Mexico, he named him Santana! Now that this creature has a name, it is time to see this guy in action.

What's interesting about Santana is the way he devours his opponents. Unlike the vampires created by the Stone Mask, he just "absorbs" his victims and in this case, he absorbs the vampire that attacked him! To be honest, I find it really disgusting since the vampire's face is destroyed badly thanks to how Santana absorb him. What happens next is something that stunned the Germans and Speedwagon, Santana finally talks! What's interesting about it is that he knows the modern language just minutes after he was awakened from his sleep. All I can say is that Santana might be a tougher foe than Dio if he has the time to grow.

So where is Joseph while this is all happening? He is cross-dressing just to get inside the Nazi base in Mexico. Seeing Joseph in a dress, complete with make-up is seriously creepy and the same time, funny. It is obvious that he is a muscular man in a dress and the reaction of the German soldiers just proves how bad his disguise is! What made it funnier is that Joseph doesn't realize that his female disguise is so bad! To top it all off is Joseph's reaction of the German soldiers pointed out the obvious. It is so funny that I can't stop laughing! Now that the soldiers are down thanks to Joseph throwing a fit on them, it is time to infiltrate the base.

Inside the base, Santana is missing but thanks to the video footage taken by the camera found in the area were Santana was contained. Much to my surprise, Santana is extremely flexible. So flexible that he can insert his muscular body inside a tiny air vent! So aside from his intelligence, he is also flexible? Santana is getting more interesting. We also saw more of his flexibility when he possessed the body of one of the soldiers. The way how he inserted his entire body on that soldier is kinda creepy. To make matters worse, the guns are useless in killing Santana! Well that is expected since it doesn't work on Stone Mask vampires.

Since guns are useless, it is time for Santana to do a counterattack, he shoots the bullets that hit him! So aside from his intelligence and flexibility, he has the ability to reuse bullets that hit him? For a primitive human being, he is quite impressive since he knows how to use guns after seeing it in action once. As for Joseph, he is now inside the base and saves the day... well, sort of.

I find it amazing that he just grabbed a clump of Stroheim's hair and did some cool Ripple move that can create a barrier out of Stroheim's clump of hair. I am not sure how the heck Joseph though of that move but it once again proved to us that even though he has limited knowledge of the Ripple, he can find a way to use the Ripple in his own advantage. Now that Speedwagon and Stroheim know that Joseph Joestar has just arrived, it is time for him to fight Santana, a creature stronger than your average Stone Mask vampire. With Joseph's limited knowledge in fighting this creature, can Joseph beat Santana?
