Here's the teaser trailer for the upcoming live-action movie adaptation of Ikki Kajiwara's Tiger Mask manga. The movie stars Eiji Wentz (Gegege no Kitarō, Brave Story) as the titular hero.
Also starring in the movie are Natsuna Watanabe (Kimi ni Todoke, Gantz) as Ruriko and Show Aikawa (Tokyo Zombie, Zebraman) as Mister X. In the movie, Naoto Date (Wentz) dons a special suit and "transforms" into Tiger Mask. Said suit enhances his mobility and muscle strength and is inspired by American comic book superheroes.
For the kids who are not aware of the original manga, Tiger Mask is a pro wrestler who fights an evil wrestling organization and fights for children in an orphanage. The upcoming movie is an origin story in which 1/3 of the movie is focused on Date's roots in the evil wrestling training organization Tora no Ana (before he turned his back on the organization).
Tiger Mask is set to premiere this November.
