Here's the first gameplay trailer of Final Fantasy XV, which reveals that unlike its predecessors, FFXV is more of an action based RPG rather than a turn based RPG. In addition, we also have some new info coming from a recent Square Enix presentation.
Because of the game's action-oriented nature, Square Enix's Final Fantasy brand director Shinji Hashimoto was asked if future Final Fantasy games will go on that direction. He stated that the franchise has different systems, but they are not yet on the stage where they can comment on the future beyond FFXV.
He was also asked if it was difficult to do turn-based combat in a game that has the production values of FFXV, Hashimoto stated that he feels there is a future for both action-based RPGs as well as command-based ones. Square feel that the action-based combat fits FFXV.
Lastly, he revealed that there is a possibility of potential sequels based on FFXV. Originally called Final Fantasy Versus XIII, this game will be available for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One in the future.
