The official Weekly Shonen Jump magazine website announced that Eiichiro Oda's One Piece manga will have a hiatus starting next week's issue. Said hiatus will last for 2 weeks.
The reason for the hiatus is because Mr. Oda is being hospitalized for a peritonsillar abscess, a complication due to an infection frequently caused by tonsillitis. One Piece will not be serialized in the magazine issues that ship on May 27 and June 3 issues, but the manga is expected to return on June 10.
