And more badass Sasuke
Because of Tsuchigumo's desire to create human sausages, he ends up kidnapping as many humans as possible, causing the Kakurangers to notice. But because Tsuchigumo was able to detect their presence, he informed Prince Junior about it. With that in mind, will our heroes all fall to the trap set by the Yokai?
After what happened last episode, I am not sure how can they follow that up. The ending was bittersweet and it made Jiraiya angrier to Prince Junior's actions. This is when I started to notice in this episode, Jiraiya can't easily forgive someone for the sins they did. Every time we see Junior on screen, we are then given a shot of Jiraiya's angry face. But compared to most childish kinds of anger, Jiraiya controls it and the only time he will express it is when he is in front of Junior.
Speaking of Junior, this is one of the episodes wherein I started to like Junior more. Granted, I liked the guy when he was first introduced in the series, but this is the time wherein you can say, I started to love this villain. I just love that after he received a call coming from Tsuchigumo; it seems that he started devising a plan to lure all five Kakurangers to their death or something. Add the fact that we have one angry Jiraiya who is out for blood and Tsuruhime being supportive about it, it is a recipe of success for the bad guys. But before talking about it, let's talk about some of the sneaking scenes.
I just love that most of the sneaking scenes happened at night or in a place that is dark, it puts a lot more emphasis that they are a team of ninjas who prefer stealth reconnaissance over actual deadly combat. But it is also what caused their demise, they are so mindful of looking for the target that they weren't able to feel their surroundings properly. That's what happened to Seikai earlier in the episode and that is what happened to Jiraiya, Saizou and Tsuruhime who is looking for Junior. And now comes the best part of the episode in the form of Sasuke!
Man, I can't believe that in just a short period of time, he managed to become quite mature as a warrior as he noticed that Junior is obviously luring them to an obvious trap. Once again, he pulled one epic entrance when Junior decides to look for him after he captured the other three Kakurangers. The fight between Junior and Sasuke is really amazing. I just love the fact that the two had this badass sword fight instead of throwing whatever magical ninja technique they have in their arsenal.
Speaking of magical ninja techniques, that's what Seikai did so that he can escape from the web that wrapped his body. This rather simple scene raised my respect to this guy, that he doesn't just sit there and watch Tsuruhime get beaten down by the Yokai. He actually tries to find a solution to escape in the mess that he is in right now. Finally, he made his escape and defeated the Yokai and thus, the start of the giant fight.
After the giant fight all of Tsuchigumo's victims are now out from the webs. But the biggest question is what happened to Junior? I mean, after Sasuke was hit by Junior's technique (he only did it once, so it is not that counted), Junior disappeared during the giant fight. As it turns out, he has a means to escape in this situation thanks to his hot air balloon! What I like about this scene is that this perfectly summarized Junior's personality perfectly. He is an evil Yokai prince, has quite a badass yet campy gimmick and he is fun to watch. Did I mention that he owns his own sports car? Enough of that, at the end, the Kakurangers swore that they will defeat Junior, especially Jiraiya.
