Famitsu Lists Top 100 Best Selling Games for the 21st Century


Famitsu revealed the list of the top 100 best-selling games in Japan for the 21st century. The facts of the list compiled info from January 1, 2001 to September 29, 2013.

The list does not include combined re-releases or downloads bought directly via PlayStaiton Network, eShop or Xbox Live, but does include download cards sold and copies bundled with hardware.

  2. Pokémon Diamond / Pearl (NDS) - 5,827,000
  3. Pokémon Black / White (NDS) - 5,489,000
  4. Pokémon Ruby / Sapphire (GBA) - 5,337,000
  5. Animal Crossing: Wild World (NDS) - 5,239,000
  6. Brain Age 2: More Training in Minutes a Day (NDS) - 5,082,000
  7. New Super Mario Bros. Wii (WII) - 4,568,000
  8. Monster Hunter Freedom 3 (PSP) - 4,503,000
  9. Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies (NDS) - 4,156,000
  10. Mario Kart DS (NDS) - 4,003,000
  11. Pokémon HeartGold / SoulSilver (NDS) - 3,936,000
  12. Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day! (NDS) - 3,847,000
