Mirai Sentai Timeranger 11 – The Deathtrap City

The episode in a nutshell.

The journalist from last time is back and now, she has a name. Her name is Honami Moriyama and after getting the scoop about the Londarz family having dinner in some fine dining restaurant, her next objective is to discover the identities of the Timerangers! Meanwhile, in some town, Sadist Gougan is wreaking havoc using his hypnotizing device that causes people to have an urge on trying to kill each other!

From the 11 episodes of this series that I have watched so far, this is the darkest episode in the bunch. The way this episode is shot added up to the mystery of the town that our heroes investigated. It didn't help that the criminal in this episode, Gougan loves carnage and doesn't matter if someone will get hurt because of his crime just as long as he gets entertained to see people trying to kill each other! What gave me chills about his M.O. is that one of the previous incidents involving him had 80% of the town's population wiped out in just three days. With that in mind, the Timerangers must stop this mad man as fast as possible.

Making things a bit difficult for our heroes is the photo journalist named Honami Moriyama who is willing to risk her life just to get a scoop. She is your traditional nosy reporter who doesn't know her limits. To be honest, I hated her guts because during the time our heroes had the perfect opportunity to destroy Gougan's hypnotizing device, she is there taking pictures of it and the blast of Time Pink's VolSniper can kill her because she is at range of the weapon's target! As expected, this endangered her as Gougan discovers her presence and then the presence of the Timerangers!

Our heroes then fight Gougan only to end up getting trapped inside a glass prison. As expected of our journalist, she tries to distance herself from the battle and takes pictures from her current range. She is that nosy that every time she clicks her camera, she always gets into my nerves! That is why I just love the scene were Time Pink just slaps her because what she did is so stupid. Even though it is part of the job of a journalist to get a scoop earlier than your competitors, but there are some limits about that department or else you might end up becoming a stalker or something along those lines.

Unluckily, night came and according to Tac's info, they can only destroy the hypnotizing machine before night or else the machine will be unstoppable. Because of this, Honami sees the error of her ways. For once, our nosy reporter finally knows her place in this situation. She should distance herself in this area and click her camera somewhere else.

Comforting her with her suffering is Time Yellow and she then develops an admiration for this guy. Luckily, the signal of the hypnotizing machine is still intact and because of this, they still have a chance to destroy it. The fights in this episode is fantastic, though Time Yellow's fight in this episode look like he is trying to impress Honami it is so fun seeing Domon making a good impression on a girl. The giant fight in this episode relied more on Time Robo Beta's speed and I like it. To be honest, Time Robo Beta and Time Jet Gamma needs a lot more screen time in this series since Time Robo Alpha always does the finishing move.

At the end, even though Gougan didn't gave the any Londarz money, it satisfied Gien's rather wicked taste of entertainment, seeing humans suffer. It is quite important to note this since unlike his associates, he is the only member of the family who is not interested in money. Since they are time criminals and he is the only one who is interested in carnage and suffering, I guess he might have an episode that involves Gien doing something big that might alter the future drastically.

As for the Honami, she finally got her scoop about the appearances of the Timerangers outside their helmets and as expected, she deduces that Time Pink is the hot chick in leather. As for Time Yellow, she deduces that he is the dude wearing a blue tank top and a black leather jacket. For a chick who is calling herself a journalist, she has a hard time to figure out which guy goes which color. I mean, even a kid who barely watch Sentai or Power Rangers can deduce that the guy in blue is Time Blue, the guy in red is Time Red and the guy in green with strange hair is Time Green.

That leaves us to the guy in orange who is obviously Time Yellow! As for the Timerangers, Yuri warned them to distance themselves from her since it will be dangerous once she knows about their identities; well they are sorta late about it because she already knew their faces but not their names. As for Domon, she doesn't mind Honami snooping around and it seems he is smitten by her.
