Wiseman's Phantom form appears for the first time and creates a sapphire magic stone that is said to "bring despair". Meanwhile, a director named Satoshi is attacked by Medusa for some reason.
Wiseman's Phantom form looks simple and just sums up the alternate spelling for his name, "Weiseman" that means "white man". Guess the relationship between the White Wizard and Wiseman is a bit clearer now as we saw a Black Cerberus familiar watching him. Meanwhile, Haruto and Koyomi are having their occasional dates and all I can say is Koyomi is cute while she is doing her costume changes! Seriously, she is so adorable that I want to hug her... well, the friendly type.
The first thing I notice about their date is that it feels like I am watching a couple going out and not siblings who decided to hang around. It didn't help that Haruto bought Koyomi a present that looks good on her! But their date is interrupted thanks to Cerberus asking them to follow him. By their reaction, it is obvious that Cerberus is not Haruto's familiar and just followed it with no question.
Before they can reach the place that Cerberus wants them to go to, Medusa attacks a guy who is likely to be a Gate. The first thing that I notice about the guy is that it feels like he wants to kill one passerby that bumped him. Considering his appearance, he is the type of guy who is not likely to attack some random passerby. Strange, this is really strange. Back to Wizard and Medusa, their fight in this episode is fantastic and finally, Wizard transformed into Hurricane Dragon, giving him an upper hand on Medusa. As expected she escaped and we are stuck with a guy who kinda looks like he knows Haruto at some point. As for Haruto, he is clueless if he knows this guy.
We then learn that the guy's name is Satoshi and he is an indie film director thanks to a girl named Chizuru who happens to pass by the antique shop and decides to take a peek on one of the old movie cameras displayed in the shop. The way how Satoshi reacted when he meet Chizuru after months of being missing is a bit weird, if he is a director of some indie film and by the looks of it, his first indie film, then he should not have a hard time remembering the names of his actors and actresses. In the case of Chizuru, it took him a few seconds to just to remember what he is supposed to do for the movie he is making.
But since there is a Phantom chasing him, he needs protection and after convincing Chizuru that Haruto can protect Satoshi since he is a wizard, they went to his old university to finish the movie. We had a brief flashback about Chizuru and Satoshi and by the looks of it, it might be Satoshi's second or third film since during the flashback scene, he knows what he is doing while he is directing the movie. One thing to point out is that Chizuru loved acting thanks to Satoshi and now, she is hopeless because all of the auditions she tried to enter only end up in rejection. To put it simply, Satoshi made a lot of impact on Chizuru's life.
Back to Koyomi, she discovered Wiseman's lair and much to my surprise, Wiseman is... not there and just left the sapphire magic stone like it is some average blue stone or something. After Koyomi picked it up since hey, it's a magic stone and all, the Cerberus disappears and Koyomi decides not to look for the familiar. Turns out that Cerberus returned to its master, the White Wizard! Is it me or the connection between the White Wizard and Wiseman is now becoming a bit clearer?
Later, Satoshi left without telling Haruto and co. about it only to end up meeting Phoenix and Medusa. This is when we learned that he is the Lizardman Phantom, the first Phantom that attacked Haruto after the solar eclipse ceremony! Their plan to use Haruto's initial knowledge that Satoshi is a Gate is quite smart. Before seeing Lizardman's attempts to try and kill Haruto, we have a brief scene featuring the donut shop guys showing off the new Poitrine donuts! Yep, the upcoming Kamen Rider Movie Wars Ultimatum is indeed canon.
Lizardman's plan to kill Haruto then begins. To sum up all of his attempts, it all failed and finally, this lead up to Haruto discovering the Lizardman's identity and a minor refresher on why Lizardman has a grudge on Haruto. The fight between Wizard and the Lizardman felt a bit standard. It became interesting when Chizuru appeared and Lizardman used her as a hostage until Medusa came and revealed that she is a Gate... and the episode ends. This is the first episode in the series where we meet someone who knows the Phantom before he became one and in this case, we have Chizuru. The question is how will this thing pan out in the later episode?
