Choudenshi Bioman 09 – Blue Three's First Solo Adventure!

Inb4 Pedobear jokes.

Kids are disappearing and according to some eyewitnesses, there are no suspicious men who are seen that are likely to abduct the kids. It can only mean one thing; the New Gear Empire is responsible to it. While they are searching for the culprit, Ryuta aka Blue Three is invited by two girls to play jump rope only to end up in some higher dimension controlled by the New Gear Empire!

Aside from their yearly tokusatsu hero shows, there is one thing that Toei is consistent with and that is at an episode or a story arc featuring creepy kids. It can range from the mysterious evil ones or the cute ones, which are the deadliest. In the case of this episode, we have two cute twins who just want to play jump rope with some kids and it turns out that it is some plot to power up a new super computer with the kid's brain cells that will serve as the batteries! I am not sure what is running on Doctor Man's mind when he thought about that plan but I find it seriously creepy.

Now that they gathered enough power for the new super computer, it is time for the plan's second phase and that is to abduct a Bioman! While the Bioman are searching for the missing kids, Ryuta ends up meeting with the twins and invited him for a game of jump rope! As expected, he ends up in the higher dimension were the kids are transported and saw who is the one supervising the plan, Farrah and since we have Farrah in this one; Farrah Cat is also in this episode! If there is one character in this series that needs more screen time that would be Farrah Cat. I mean, she is one amazing sub commander!

Ryuta is then attacked by the Mecha Clones, Farrah Cat and Messer (sigh) and while he is fighting these guys, we learn why Doctor Man needs a super computer; he needs the data of the Bioman... in numbers! One thing that surprised me with the numbers on Blue Three's attacks is that they are all in the thousand kilograms, which is basically if you are an ordinary guy, and you get hit by any of the Bioman, you are likely to die.

Since he is alone in this one, he ends up getting beaten by the Mecha Clones and Messer (sigh) eventually and before Farrah can order them to finish him off, Doctor Man decides to cancel the attack. The first thing that bothered me is why Doctor Man not grabbed the opportunity to defeat Blue Three in the first place?! As what Farrah pointed out, it's the perfect opportunity to kill Blue Three and to lessen the power of the Bioman in the process! Thankfully, Doctor Man explained why he cancelled the attack; he just wants to get the data of Blue Three's regeneration ability. While he is regenerating, Doctor Man continues to be awesome by sending in a Mecha Giant to keep the Biomen busy and to distract them in the process.

As expected, the Bio Robo can't defeat the Twin Kans Mecha Giant because Blue Three is not in the cockpit. Back to Blue Three, he finally heard the cries of the kids who are inside the super computer and decides to save them only to fail at the end. Not surprised with it because I expect that there is some twist at the end that will help him free those kids. Since Blue Three is back in full strength and because of the kids he see is in danger, he fights the Mecha Clones, Farrah Cat and Messer (sigh).

As what I have expected, the numbers of Blue Three's attacks increased because of his renewed determination that he beat the Mecha Clones with ease and even though he is not with his teammates, he is able to defeat Messer (sigh). Seriously, why can't they kill the Beastnoids if we see them get defeated by the Biomen every single time at the near end of every freakin' episode?! Even though I am disappointed on why they can't kill the Beastnoids, Blue Three found a way to destroy the super computer that trapped the kids.

Since Blue Three destroyed the super computer, Doctor Man is pissed and by the look of his face, it seems that he didn't gather enough data. At the same time, Blue Three and the kids are back in their original dimension. Because Blue Three is back, the Bio Robo is now in full power and defeated the Mecha Giant! Unlike the previous giant mecha battle, this episode had a lot of interesting scenes that expanded more on the Bio Robo's abilities. Much to my surprise, it can deflect laser beams and bounce it back onto the opponent!

The episode ends with a scene that looked familiar, it's a scene from the 4th episode where we have a pigeon informant dead! For them to hide the fact that they are using a stock footage shot they change the order of the original scene... and it didn't work for me to be honest. But if you are a guy who is not keen to detail, you can barely notice that they use a stock footage scene.
