Maaya Uchida Leads Chūnibyō Demo Koi ga Shitai! Cast
Voice actress and Hikonin Sentai Akibaranger star Maaya Uchida will be headlining the anime adaptation of Torako's “Chūnibyō Demo Koi ga Shitai!” (She Has Adolescent Delusions, But I Want to Love Her!) novel.
Maaya Uchida will play the role of Rikka Takanashi, a girl with a "chū-2 byō" syndrome, and made a true contract with Yuuta Togashi. They are in the middle of enjoying "real life" to the fullest … or should be. However, Satone Shichimiya, a friend from middle school and the one suffering the most from the syndrome, appears and turns Togashi's life upside down.
"Chū-2 byō" or "Chūnibyō" literally meant "middle-school second-grade disease". It was coined by comedian Hikaru Ijūin to describe "adolescent thoughts that teenagers commonly have".
Also included in the anime adaptation are Chinatsu Akasaki (Baby, Please Kill Me!) as Shinka Nibutani, Azumi Asakura (High School DxD) as Kumin Tsuyuri, and Sumire Uesaka (Listen to Me, Girls. I Am Your Father!) as Sanae Dekomori. The latter two are anime only characters.
The anime will be directed by Tatsuya Ishihara (AIR, CLANNAD), with series composition from Jukki Hanada (K-on!, Steins;Gate). Kazumi Ikeda (Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu) handles character design and animation direction.
Kyoto Animation's “Chūnibyō Demo Koi ga Shitai!” will premiere this October.
