Kamen Rider Wizard 25 – A Grandson's Choice

Kousuke is on a crisis, will he chose to sacrifice his grandma to save Shunpei or do otherwise? While he is thinking on what he will do next, he realized the importance of his grandma. What will be Shunpei's final decision?

Even though Shunpei was useful in the previous episode, this episode proved to us viewers that the reason why he existed in this show so that Wizard will save someone at the end of every story arc. If that's the case, why not go with Koyomi? I mean, it will be awesome if Haruto will save a cute girl for once in a while! The only thing useful he did in this episode is that Gryphon is inside Shunpei's bag, which served as their lead to find Weretiger's hideout. Now that our heroes have the advantage, Haruto and Rinko infiltrate the place.

What I like about this scene is how they gave us viewers the impression that Haruto and Rinko are infiltrating Weretiger's hideout. The transition of each scene has this sense of danger in it. But as it turns out, Weretiger and Shunpei are in another hideout and that it is a trap set by Sora so that Wizard will end up fighting Medusa! So yeah, Shunpei was partly useful in this episode. The fight between Wizard and Medusa is entertaining to watch and the fact that Sora is the mastermind behind made it sweeter. That alone gave me an impression that Sora is one competent enemy.

Back to Kousuke, after he realized that his grandma only cares for her so much that she is willing to become a Phantom for his sake, he ends up visiting her room in the antique shop. This scene is kinda emotional, for once, we don't see the usual Kousuke, but what we see is a grandson finally realizing the importance of family. That even though her grandma has seen him grow up, this is the only time he realized the love she is giving to him.

As for Medusa and Sora, it is fun to see Medusa show her anger once in a while and to be honest, I know understand why Phoenix is scared at her in the earlier episodes. But what made this scene really entertaining is how Sora reacted to it. He didn't mind Medusa being angry at him. He just evaded all of her attacks, run on the walls just to evade it and laugh like it is just one big misunderstanding. After this scene, it made me realize that it will be interesting to see more of the dynamics between Medusa and Sora.

Back to the antique shop, our heroes don't have any option left that is until Kousuke and her grandma are ready to face Sora and Weretiger the next day. The next day, the exchange happened but first, Sora needs Kousuke's belt and after the exchange is made, we learned that Weretiger has the intention of killing Kousuke so that Kousuke's grandma will fall into despair! There are two things that I hate about this scene, Kousuke's expression when he was hit by Weretiger's attacks and Weretiger's attack, for crying out loud, a man shooting laser blast coming from his boobs?! What the hell was that?!

Weretiger finally delivers the final blow when all of a sudden, Kousuke turned into a bunch of feathers and to top it all off, Haruto appears out of nowhere and grabs the Beast Driver and shoots Weretiger and Shunpei's chains! Much to their surprise, Kousuke is basically using Haruto's magic by scanning Kousuke's Wizard Rings. Because of what they did, this made me wonder what will happen if Kousuke or Haruto will scan the other Beast Wizard Rings. What are new spells we will see with every Beast Wizard Ring scanned in the WizarDriver?

As for the fights in this episode, the fight between Beast and Weretiger is more on physical strength while Wizard's fight with Gremlin is more on speed. Gremlin's fight style rely more on his ability to teleport anywhere, another thing I observe is his choice of weapon, swords. Because of this, it made me realize one thing, the weapons of all Phantoms in this series are swords less Medusa's and to be honest, I don't like it. It feels like there is no variety with the villains when it comes to weapons.

The two later switched enemies and Wizard used the Drago Timer's cloning abilities to fight Weretiger. As for Beast, his fight with Gremlin is kinda brief because the guy ran away after realizing that he is on a disadvantage. At the end, all of the Wizard Dragon clones disappear thanks to the time limit and that Beast finally defeated a Phantom after weeks of not defeating one. What better way to defeat it is with a Rider Kick, and boy, I love Beast's Kick as it puts the circus theme in Beast's Beast Driver in full circle. At the end, Kousuke's grandma leaves and Kousuke assures her that he will be safe. D'aaaaw.
