The anime studio MADHOUSE streamed a 82-second teaser for Ninja Scroll Burst anime. The trailer features Kibagami Jubei fighting various ninjas. It will be a new in-development Ninja Scroll anime.
The development of Ninja Scroll Burst 3-episode short anime started since 2008, but it required a script acceptable to both Madhouse co-founder Masao Maruyama and director Yoshiaki Kawajiri. Release date of the anime "is still under consideration."
The 1993 Ninja Scroll anime movie, is about a story of Kibagami Jubei, a swordsman-for-hire, who saved a ninja woman from rape. He later makes enemies and fights a group of demonic creatures.
