Gackt's “Hakuro” Single Release Date Announced

It has been announced that Gackt's latest single “Hakuro”, will be released this October. It is the ending theme of the live action adaptation of the popular Sengoku Basara video game series, “Sengoku Basara -Moonlight Party-”.

Gackt plays as Oda Nobunaga in the drama. The single will includeJounetsu no Inazuma” as the B-Side track. Instrumental version of the two tracks are also included, for a total of four tracks. The DVD version comes with music video of the title track.

Gackt's “Hakuro” will be released on October 10th, and available in two versions: CD+DVD and a CD-only version, for 1800 yen and 1200 yen, respectively. Pre-order your copies now at CDJapan and get exciting bonuses!

As the battle for the Land of the Rising Sun started earlier today, here is the preview for the second episode of “Sengoku Basara -Moonlight Party-”. Sanada Yukimura and Date Masamune clashes swords in the forest!


In a fight against Nobunaga Oda, Takeda Shingen lost and virtually died. Masamune is depressed losing to Takeda Shingen, Yukimura is lost and don’t have the words to consult. Kenshin Uesugi and Kasuga appears to talk to Yukimura about something important.

Here is the opening sequence of the live action adaptation of the popular Sengoku Basara video game series, “Sengoku Basara -Moonlight Party-” featuring the new song from J Soul Brothers, entitled “LET'S PARTY.”


Excited about this live action adaptation, I started watching the anime series. From what we saw in the video, although it shows the same elements as the anime, it's seems to be lacking. I'll reserve my final opinions after I saw the whole episode.

Over-Time Fansubs is said to be taking the project, replacing their Hikonin Sentai Akibaranger weekly slot.

The official website for the upcoming live action adaptation of the popular Sengoku Basara video game series, “Sengoku Basara -Moonlight Party-” had updated with new information on the show's first episode. Check it out after the jump!

On the first episode, Date Masamune (Kento Hayashi) will go head-to-head with Sanada Yukimura (Kouhei Takeda). Our two combatants square of and enjoy the heat of the battle until Yukimura got wounded. Will Yukimura accepts his loss? Or will Lord Shingen Takeda (Hiroaki Iwanaga) help him?

Set in the warring states period in Japan, “Sengoku BASARA -Moonlight Party-” is a stylish drama based on a game with the same name. This first live-action TV drama is an opportunity to continue the chain of successes from previous events, theater, anime version alike.

Director Keita Matsuda fascinates audiences with a robust storyline and working a lot of CG for the live action TV and tokusatsu. He is also responsible for other works such as “Ronin Pop,” “Ultraman Zero: The Movie” and the live-action “Prince of Tennis” film. Action sequences will be led by Director Takeshi Obara known for “Ninja x Geisha” and Ryota Yamaguchi and Natsuko Takahashi known for live-action dramas and movies, will handle the scripts.

Sengoku Basara -Moonlight Party- will premiere on July 12th on MBS, and will run late night, every Thursday at 1:25 a.m. (or early Friday morning). The drama will proceed to the BS-TBS channel later in September.

J Soul Brothers to Sing Sengoku Basara Drama Opening Theme


The official Facebook page for the for the upcoming live action adaptation of the popular Sengoku Basara video game series, “Sengoku Basara -Moonlight Party-”, have revealed that the JPOP dance vocals unit J Soul Brothers will sing for the opening.

The official website for the upcoming live action adaptation of the popular Sengoku Basara video game series, “Sengoku Basara -Moonlight Party-” began streaming the first 35-second promotional video for the drama series.

The preview features the cast is a few second of action scenes, and GACKT's latest song, “Hakuro” which will be used as the drama's ending theme.

The official website for the upcoming live action adaptation of the popular Sengoku Basara video game series, “Sengoku Basara -Moonlight Party-” have finally opened, revealing the cast in their costumes!

Sengoku Basara already spun six games, two anime series and an animated movie. Its story is very loosely based around the many real characters and events of the titular Sengoku era in the history of feudal Japan.

Capcom's popular video game franchise Sengoku Basara will have its first live-action series to be entitled, “Sengoku Basara -Moonlight Party-” starting next month! The series was first adapted into two anime series and a movie.

Actor/singer GACKT (New Fist of the North Star, Kamen Rider Decade) will star as the tyrant Oda Nobunaga (right); Kento Hayashi (Arakawa Under the Bridge) as the six-sword wielder, Date Masamune (center); and, Kouhei Takeda (Hana Kimi, Kamen Rider Kiva) as spearman. Sanada Yukimura (left).
