Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger 36 – The Radiant Miracle

2shiny4me

Mad Torin appears and so does an army of destroyed Deboth monsters! The only solution for this problem is to seal the hole with the power of the Gigant Cannon. Can Torin, Bragigas' power summon enough bravery to stop his evil clone and the dead monsters?

Just like the previous episode, this episode feels like two episodes rolled in one due to the tone and the fact that Mad Torin has a lot of potential to last for more than one episode. Imagine, regular Torin versus his evil clone for at least 3 episodes and will end in one epic conclusion wherein Torin transforms into KyoryuSilver for the first time. Granted it will give us 3 episodes worth of returning monsters, but at least it did build up some proper tension between Torin and his evil clone!

Back to the episode, I was at first bothered with the creation of Mad Torin; the previous episode implied that he originated from Deboth Hell. It started to make sense when we learned that thanks to Torin's observation of humans and dinosaurs, I guess his dark side was created in a really slow process as Torin's evil side slowly disappears and ends up getting transported in Deboth Hell. Since we have two Torins in one scene, it's expected that the two will have a duel and boy; all of their duels in this episode are really fun to watch. The opening duel showed us the difference of their power and the aerial duel showed us that Mad Torin is becoming stronger thanks to the freed monsters and Torin is getting weaker thanks to his Deboth blood.

As expected, he was defeated but his defeat also showed us another instance how much the Kyoryugers care for him. These guys gave him some words of encouragement that he decided to continue fighting after he was defeated by his evil counterpart. Before talking about his final fight with his clone, the main Kyoryugers in this episode basically defeated every single of those dead monsters again, except for the one who kidnapped Nossan's niece. To put it simply, it feels like the writer just let that one live till the final ground battle so that we can see our heroes fight a lot of monsters.

To be honest, these monsters kinda distract the viewers to the main focus of this episode, Torin becoming KyoryuSilver and realizing that from the very beginning, he is the epitome of bravery and he just needs to realize it. Having King made him realize it is really cool because it kinda continues the impression that the Kyoryugers are trying to cheer the guy up but to have him say it during the time they are fighting a lot of monsters is what makes this scene kinda weak. I kinda wished that it's just a solo duel between Torin and Mad Torin with no other monsters attacking. Just these two, nothing more, nothing less.

Now that Torin realized that he is the epitome of bravery, he decides that he will use bravery as his own power source to become KyoryuSilver! His first transformation is really, really cool. I mean, he freakin' used a gun as his guitar! That alone is awesome. Granted his transformation sequence barely explained what happened to his wings, but hey, he had one cool roll call, transformation music and sequence so all is forgiven. His debut fight as KyoryuSilver is really badass and his finisher, the Torinity Strazor is really cool. Guess what I am trying to say is, it's hard to describe KyoryuSilver's first fight.

Now that we have Silver in the team and Mad Torin is defeated, it is time for the giant battle! The first giant battle with Silver is really fun to watch because it is basically Torin with the rest of the team together for the first time as Kyoryugers, not as mentor with his team. What's more is that Yayoi figured out a way to shoot the Gigant Cannon without causing the destruction of Bragigas and it's just pure awesome because it's basically 10 robot dinosaurs charging some giant cannon with 13 barrels and then shooting it to the enemy! In short, this is the closest thing we have for a 10-piece Voltasaur formation and I am fine with it.

After firing the Gigant Cannon, it's power sealed the entrance to Deboth Hell but there are still some dead monsters left. With all 10 Kyoryugers together, it seems that we don't have to worry what will happen next to our heroes now that our planet is in good hands. Even if that's the case, the Deboth Legion is not yet defeated and it will take some time for this planet to receive peace from these beings.
