3rd Puella Magi Madoka Magica Film Sold Over 570 Million Yen in Just 5 Days!

Nikkan Sports reported that Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie -Rebellion- earned over 570 million yen in just five days since it opened on October 26.

The movie debuted at the top of the Japanese weekend box office by selling 271,279 tickets for 436 million yen. In addition, a theater in Nagoya sold more tickets for the film on opening day than it has for any film since the theater opened in 2005.

The official Puella Magi Madoka Magica website made some updates, which reveals that the upcoming third movie will feature a new magical girl.

The new magical girl's name is Nagisa Momoe who has a child-like appearance. She is voiced by Kana Asumi (Nyarko Nyarko-san: Another Crawling Chaos, Popura in Working!!), other than that there's no other information about her.

A TV program called Mezamashi Terebi recently had a special feature for the upcoming 3rd Puella Magi Madoka Magica movie called "Puella Magi Madoka Magica New Feature: Rebellion". The program featured the 1st teaser trailer of the movie.

The TOHO Cinema chain listed that the upcoming 3rd Puella Magi Madoka Magica movie entitled, "Puella Magi Madoka Magica New Feature: Rebellion" will be released this Fall 2013.

Advance tickets will go on sale in theaters on July 6, and buyers can get the first batch of tickets with a card and an exclusive clear file folder.
