Evangelion 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo Film Promo Posted

Kinyō Road Show (Friday Road Show) television program aired the latest 117-second promo for the 3rd film in Hideaki Anno and Khara's four-part remake of the Neon Genesis Evangelion anime series, “Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo.”


Shinji and Rei still frozen in the impaled Unit-01, Tokyo-3 and Geofront being abandoned. Shinji Ikari later awakens, and beside him stands a mysterious boy, then a new world waits for him.

Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo (Evangelion Shin Gekijou-ban Q) film premieres in Japanese theaters on November 17th.

Evangelion Creator, A Tokusatsu Fan

Unknown to many people, Hideaki Anno, creator of the famous Neon Genesis Evangelion anime series, had been a fan of tokusatsu, which greatly influenced his works from the Eva Units' time limit to monster invading Tokyo.

Hideaki Anno plans to exhibit some of great artifacts of tokusatsu movie and television making on "Hideaki Anno's Tokusatsu Museum," hosted by the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo July 10th to October 8th, including Studio Ghibli's new live-action short God Warrior Attacks Tokyo.

For the occasion, Hideaki Anno listed his five favorite tokusatsu works — based on their cultural significance and his own emotional attachment:

1. Godzilla (1954)
2. Mighty Jack (1968)
3. Ultraman (1966)
4. Ultra Seven (1967)
5. Return of Ultraman (1971)

Since the original Godzilla costumes were not well enough preserved to be used in the exhibit, it will still feature the fearful "Oxygen Destroyer." And while only 40% of Mighty Jack's famous battleship remained intact, but it was able to be restored.


Anno stated that in his opinion, the original Ultraman is the perfectly told giant hero story. The exhibit would also feature models used for Ultraman's flying scenes, his famous colored timer and plenty of items from the Ultraman productions.

Check out "Hideaki Anno's Tokusatsu Museum," at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, from July 10th to October 8th.

Evangelion 3.0 Latest Trailer Streamed

Here's the latest trailer for the 3rd film in Hideaki Anno and Khara's four-part remake of the Neon Genesis Evangelion anime series, “Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo,” played on the wall's of Tokyo's Shinjuku Wald 9 theater last Sunday night.


The video first played a quick digest video of the the first two films before airing the latest trailer for the third movie. At the end of the trailer, they revealed the release date of the third movie: November 17th. Advance tickets with bonus items will go on sale on July 14.
