WHAT A TWEEST.
Now that Fueki admits that aside from being the White Wizard, he is also the mysterious Wiseman, we also learned more about Koyomi's past, why she ended up in that state and last but not the least, Fueki's motivations on why the heck he decided to sacrifice thousands of lives just to get 4 wizards.
I got to admit, when I first watched this episode in raw form, this episode is simply boring. For most part of the show, it's mostly talking with occasional fights to wake up the guys who got bored with the amount of dialogue this episode has. Before going into the deeper explanation stuff, I'll first go to a few things that this episode confirmed. First is that this episode confirmed that Sora already figured everything out weeks ago, next is that Agent Kizaki's discovery is basically this episode in a nutshell... with some parts expanded in scenes featuring Koyomi.
Before talking about Koyomi's discovery, some bits of Agent Kizaki's discovery was kinda seen in some frames in the episode where he was attacked by the White Wizard. His discovery that Fueki's job has something to do with science is further expanded in this episode, revealing that he tried using science to save his only daughter, only to later resort to magic after discovering it. When you think about it, the mix of science and magic was hinted in the opening minutes of the show's first episode wherein the narrator tells us that magic is left hanging while science keeps on progressing.
So how is this fusion of magic and science related to Koyomi? Turns out that she is the reason why Fueki started researching about magic in the first place! As it turns out, she actually died and her body is being kept alive thanks to the Philosopher's Stone inside her body. When you think about it, there's actually meaning when Wiseman revealed that he will not give the Philosopher's Stone to Sora. Turns out that's what is keeping her daughter alive and the mana that is being supplied in her body is used to power the stone.
The concept of Philosopher's Stone in Koyomi's body really makes sense. I mean, some materials believe that the said stone can grant immortal life to those who find it and having the stone as the "heart" of Koyomi's body now makes sense. It kinda makes sense why Koyomi needs more supply of mana as time went on, the stone inside of her body is reacting with Haruto's growth as a wizard... that is if you consider Fullmetal Alchemist's first law of alchemy, which is the rule of equivalent trade and since Fueki admits that he needs Haruto for Koyomi's constant mana supply so that he can hold the Sabbat again, this is the closest explanation we have for the mana scars in her body.
Fueki's line that he is willing to sacrifice people's lives just to revive her daughter pretty much sums up what is this series all about, it is about a father's misery of losing her only daughter and will do everything in his power just to save her. With that in mind, you can say that Fueki is one father who seriously loves his daughter but when you think about it, his wife died in an early age, only leaving him with their daughter. If Koyomi didn't die, Fueki will become that seriously overprotective father when it comes to his daughter's suitors.
This now leads us to the Sabbat, put the pieces of information this episode revealed, the entire ceremony is basically bringing Koyomi back from the dead... and he is willing to sacrifice lives for this ceremony, which includes forcing two people to become wizards, with the two being volunteers with their own specific agendas. Speaking of those two guys who are forced to become wizards, this episode showed us how powerful Fueki is as a wizard that he can force people to his will and in this case, both Yuzuru and Yamamoto are now wizards under his command. With that in mind, what is Haruto's decision? Will he help Fueki to save Koyomi or will put the lives of other people first before Koyomi?
