Filming for the Live Action Rurouni Kenshin Movie Sequels Begins


The July 3rd edition of the ZIP! talk show revealed that the filming for the upcoming live-action Rurouni Kenshin movie sequels has began filming. In addition, the official blog for the movie revealed that they are looking for movie extras.

The talk show revealed what was previously reported that actor Takeru Satoh (Kamen Rider Den-O, BECK) will reprise his role as Kenshin Himura while actor Tatsuya Fujiwara (Battle Royale, Death Note) will join the movie as Makoto Shishio.


Now for the casting call for extras, the casting call revealed the shooting locations for the upcoming film along with the dates where they will film in those places. These places are:

  • Late July - Ibaraki Prefecture
  • August - Kumamoto and Yamagata Prefectures
  • Late September - Kyoto, Shiga and Hyoga Prefectures
  • Late October - Nagano, Tokyo, Kanagawa and Shizuoka Prefectures

The two upcoming Rurouni Kenshin films based on the Kyoto Arc entitled "Rurouni Kenshin: The Great Kyoto Fire Arc" and "Rurouni Kenshin: The End of a Legend Arc" are both slated to have summer 2014 release.
