Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment PS Vita Game 2nd Trailer


Namco Bandai Games is streaming the second trailer video of Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment game for the PS Vita. A follow up to the SAO: Infinity Moment (PSP), this game takes place in Aincrad's unexplored "Hollow Area".

Kirito once again explores Aincrad and run into a mysterious "orange player" who attacks him and claimed that she has killed a person. Kirito and his friends continue to explore the dangerous area in a new adventure.


Aside from dating the female players, the game also has an "adventure mode" in which players have an option to create their own characters and play with up to 8 other people online to go on quests in the Hollow Area.

The game will be released on April 24 and costs 6,170 yen. The game's limited first edition will include exclusive content not found in the standard edition. For more info about it, you can check this post.

Sword Art Online: Extra Edition Anime Special Promo


Dengeki posted the first TV promo of the upcoming Sword Art Online: Extra Edition anime special. The promo features the theme song "Niji no Rainbow" by Eir Aoi.


In this special, Yui wants to see a whale, so Kirito and the gang take on an underwater quest in ALO. Much to everyone's shock however, Leafa can't swim! Asuna and the rest of the girls decide to take her to a pool in the real world to help her learn how to swim. Meanwhile, Kirito meets a certain individual...

This 2-hour anime special is partly written by original light novelist Reki Kawahara and Tomohiko Ito is back in directing the special. This special will premiere in Japan this December 31. The special will be then streamed worldwide the next day.

Asuna's Lambent Light Rapier from Sword Art Online Mini Replica Announced


A new line of mini-replicas called "Eternal Masterpiece" is finally announced. First on the list of mini-replicas is the Asuna's Lambent Light from Sword Art Online.

This zinc diecast replica of Asuna's trademark rapier from the popular anime/light novel series is 15 cm in length and has its own scabbard. This item is promised to be a of better quality, higher density and more details than comparable character goods.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment PS Vita Game Release Date Announced


The release date of Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment is finally announced. The PS Vita game based on the popular anime/light novel series of the same will be released on April 24 for 6,170 yen (about US$62).

In addition, the game will also have a limited first edition, which will include a box with exclusive artwork by original novel illustrator abec, a soundtrack CD, a product code to unlock a special in-game outfit, a special contents Blu-ray Disc, mini clear posters, and special package and cases. This edition costs 9,980 yen (US$100).

A follow up to last March's Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment PSP game, this game takes place in Aicrad's unexplored "Hollow Area".

Eir Aoi Performs Sword Art Online: Extra Edition Anime Special Theme Song


It is revealed that Eir Aoi will perform the theme song of Sword Art Online: Extra Edition called "Niji no Oto" (The Sound of Rainbow).

She also performed the second opening theme of the Sword Art Online TV anime. The upcoming special, which will be streamed online, is a recap episode with some new footage, which is about Yui's desire to see a whale, the girls teaching Suguha how to swim and Kirito meeting someone.

The single for "Niji no Oto" will go on sale in Japan on January 1.

Sword Art Online: Extra Edition TV Anime Special to Stream Worldwide


Aniplex announced at Anime Festival Asia 2013 that the Sword Art Online: Extra Edition special will stream worldwide on January 1, immediately after its Japanese premiere.

The series will stream on Crunchyroll and Daisuki for Mexico, Central America and South America; the Aniplus cable channel on Korea; on LeTV streaming site on China; and in Wakanim on France. In addition, Daisuki will also stream the special in Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, German-speaking countries, Italian-speaking countries, Russian-speaking countries, India, and the Middle East.

This 2-hour anime special is partly written by original light novelist Reki Kawahara and Tomohiko Ito is back in directing the special. For the plot of the special, you can check this post.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment "Hollow Area" Info Revealed


More info about the Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment game for the PS Vita has surfaced online and it features more screenshots and where we will meet this new character.

Kirito and Asuna will meet this new heroine in the game's Hollow Area. Sadly, the name of this new heroine is still unknown as of this writing.


More on the Hollow Area, this is a new part of Aincrad with a dense forest temple area to explore. In addition, the game's battle system is designed to feel more like you are playing Sword Art Online compared to the PSP game.

The speed is faster and the step system lets you more around an enemy to evade attacks which makes fights feel more active. Lastly, one of the bosses of this area is the Hollow Reaper.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment is set to be released next year.

Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax 2nd Gameplay Video


Here's the second gameplay video of the upcoming Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax fighting game developed by Sega. This game features characters from the Dengeki Bunko light novel imprint.

The playable characters featured in the video are: Shana (Shakugan no Shana), Asuna (Sword Art Online), Kirino Kosaka (Oreimo), Mikoto Misaka (A Certain Magical Index), Kuroyukihime (Accel World) and Shizuo Heiwajima (Durarara!!!).


The support characters featured in the video are: Wilhemina Carmel (Shakugan no Shana), Leafa (Sword Art Online), Kuroneko (Oreimo), Toma Kamijo (A Certain Magical Index), Haruyuki Arita (Accel World) and Celty Sturluson (Durarara!!!).

Details about the game's release and the consoles where this game will be available is still unknown as of this writing.

Latest Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment PSVita Game Info Revealed


Dengeki PlayStation revealed more information about the upcoming Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment game for the PSVita. The game is slated for a 2014 release with the story being developed by Seven Days Way.

The game will feature co-op, but Namco Bandai will be keeping the details about it a secret for now. Aside from the spacious map, players can continuously attack on enemy by pressing auto attack and the regular attack button.

The game will also feature more romance elements between Kirito and the game's heroines. Lastly, Namco Bandai is considering to have some kind of a save data transfer feature in Hollow Fragment that connects to the PSP game Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment.

A new Sword Art Online game for the PlayStation Vita was announced in this year's Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival event.


The new game called "Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment" takes place in the unexplored "Hollow Area" of Aincrad. Kirito explores the area with a mysterious girl. The said game will be released next year.

Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax First Game Promo


Here's the first promo video of the Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax fighting game developed by Sega. This game features characters from the Dengeki Bunko light novel imprint.

The characters previously revealed to be playable for the game are: Shana (Shakugan no Shana), Asuna (Sword Art Online), Kirino Kosaka (Oreimo) and Mikoto Misaka (A Certain Magical Index). The game also features support characters and currently revealed support characters are: Wilhemina Carmel (Shakugan no Shana), Leafa (Sword Art Online), Kuroneko (Oreimo) and Toma Kamijo (A Certain Magical Index).


In addition, this year's Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival revealed that Durarara!!!'s Shizuo Heiwajima and Accel World's Kuroyukihime will be playable in this fighting game.

This is the fourth collaboration between ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Bunko imprint and Sega. This project marks Dengeki Bunko's 20th anniversary. Details about the game's release and the consoles where this game will be available is still unknown as of this writing. But for those fans who can't wait to play the game, Japanese location tests are scheduled to begin on October 11-13.

Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax First Gamplay Video


The first gameplay footage for the "Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax" has surfaced online! In this video, we see Shana vs. Asuna with Asuna getting a little help from Leafa.


The game features characters coming from various Dengeki Bunko light novel imprint characters. Seen in the first screenshots are Shakugan no Shana's Shana and Wilhemina Carmel and Sword Art Online's Asuna and Leafa. More characters will be revealed in the future.

Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax 2D Fighting Game Announced


ASCII Media Works and Sega announced a new 2D fighting game called "Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax" at the Game no Dengeki booth in this year's Tokyo Game Show.

The game features characters coming from various Dengeki Bunko light novel imprint characters. Seen in the first screenshots are Shakugan no Shana's Shana and Wilhemina Carmel and Sword Art Online's Asuna and Leafa. More characters will be revealed in the future.


More information about the game will be revealed at the Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival 2013 event at the Akihabara UDX & Belle Salle in Tokyo on October 6. The event will have demo stations where players can test the game with Asuna, Shana, and other characters.

Sword Art Online TV Anime Special Latest Info


We have previously reported that the Sword Art Online anime will have a TV special this year and just recently, more details about it has surfaced online.

The TV special called "Sword Art Online Extra Edition" is a recap of 25-episode anime's two major story arcs, the Aincrad and Fairy Dance arcs and it will contain some new footage. The said TV special will air by the end of the year.

Sword Art Online to Premiere on Toonami this July


The official Toonami Tumblr account revealed that Sword Art Online will premiere in the anime block starting this July 27th at 2:00am EDT/PDT.

Sword Art Online will replace Thundercats in the timeslot. In addition, Big O Season 2 will replace Sym-Bionic Titan in the 3:30am timeslot.

Sword Art Online Progressive Manga Adaptation Announced


It was announced that the retelling of the Sword Art Online light novel series, Sword Art Online Progressive will have a manga adaptation.

Sword Art Online Progressive is a revised retelling of Kirito's journey through the floating Aincrad castle from the beginning, floor-by-floor. Artist Kiseki Himura will be illustrating the new manga series, which will be released this June 29.

Sword Art Online Girls Ops Manga Revealed


A new manga based on Reki Kawahara's popular Sword Art Online light novel series was revealed in the 32nd issue of Dengeki Bunko Magazine on June 10! Entitled "Sword Art Online Girls Ops", this manga will focus on Lisbeth, Silica and Leafa.

The story takes place both in the real world at the school for those who returned from Sword Art Online alive, and inside the "ALfheim Online" fantasy game, and will follow the three girls on a new adventure.

Artist Neko Nekobyō (Night Wizard Variable Witch, Mahō Zakkaten Vi Via) will illustrate the said manga. It is said that the reason for the manga's creation is because the fans campaigned the the three characters did not have many appearances in the original light novels.
