Live-Action Silver Spoon Movie Full Trailer


The official website of the live-action movie adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa's Silver Spoon manga posted the full trailer of the movie. The trailer features the film's theme song entitled "Hidamari" by YUZU.

The movie is about Yugo Hachiken (played by Kento Nakajima) who winds up attending an Agricultural high school in Hokkaido where students participate in the day-to-day operations of a dairy farm.


Hachiken is from the city and isn't accustomed to farm life. However, he eventually experiences growth as he struggles through various group training activities. Along the way, he meets new friends, which includes Equestrian Club member Aki Mikage (played by Alice Hirose).

Directed by Keisuke Yoshida (Cafe Isobe, Triangle), the movie is produced by TBS and Wilco (All About Lily Chou-Chou) and the distributor TOHO.

Silver Spoon premieres this March 7, 2014 in Japan.

Live-Action Silver Spoon Film Theme Song Revealed


The duo YUZU will perform the theme song of the live-action Silver Spoon film. The duo is best known for contributing theme songs for Hunter x Hunter and Doraemon.

The name of the new song is "Hidamari", which is written and composed specifically for the movie according to YUZU's Koji Iwasawa who wrote it. He wrote and composed this song after reading the original manga and the film's outline.

The light acoustic sound evokes the image of the vast Hokkaido meadows, while the lyrics reflects the trials and dreams of adolescence, as well as bliss.

Silver Spoon premieres this March 7, 2014.

Silver Spoon Season 2 Opening & Ending Theme Announced


The official Silver Spoon anime website announced the opening and ending theme songs of the 2nd season of the anime.

Japanese rock band Fujifabric will perform the show's opening theme, "Life". The single for the song will be released on February 12. The band's vocalist and guitarist revealed that he is a fan of the manga since it was first published.

Japanese band Goose house will perform the show's ending theme, "Oto no Naru Hō e". The single will be released on February 19. All members of the group read the original manga.

Silver Spoon Season 2 will premiere in January 2014.

Silver Spoon Manga Has 12 Million Copies in Circulation


This year's 46th issue of Weekly Shonen Sunday announced that there are 12 million copies of the nine Silver Spoon manga volumes are in circulation!

The manga had about half that number at the start of the year. Last year, the series ranked 7th in Japan's top-selling manga series and it was estimated that 3,603,710 copies of the manga were sold.

Live-Action Silver Spoon Movie Adaption Announced


The Nikkan Sports and Sports Nippon newspapers announced that a live-action movie adaptation of Silver Spoon farming manga will premiere next spring.

Sexy Zone's Kento Nakajima (Bad Boys J) will star in the film as Yugo Hachiken with Alice Hirose (Kamen Rider x Kamen Rider Double & Decade: Movie War 2010) will co-star as Aki Mikage. Nakajima started filming in the city of Obihiro in Hokkaido on Saturday, and he also practiced horse riding and got experience working on a dairy farm to prepare for the role.

Other cast members include Ryūhei Ueshima (Kaibutsu-kun) will play the principal, Nakamura Shidō (Gatchaman, Death Note) will play Nakajima, the equestrian club adviser, and Tomohiro Ichikawa will play Hachiken's classmate Ichirō Komaba.

Directed by Keisuke Yoshida (Cafe Isobe, Triangle), the movie is produced by TBS and Wilco (All About Lily Chou-Chou) and the distributor TOHO.

Silver Spoon Anime Trailer


The official Silver Spoon anime website posted the 1st trailer of the series, which features the characters of the series. The new trailer features the show's opening "Kiss you" by miwa.

Silver Spoon is about a bright student named Yugo Hachiken who schemes to get away from his family by enrolling in an agricultural school that requires students to reside in its dorms, only to find it more work than he had envisioned.


A-1 Pictures is animating the upcoming anime series, which is directed by Tomohiko Ito (Sword Art Online) with assistant director Kotomi Deai. Taku Kishimoto (Bunny Drop) is writing the scripts, while Jun Nakai (Mardock Scramble films) is serving as character designer and chief animation director. Shusei Murai (Allison & Lillia, Aiura) is scoring the music.

The series will premiere this July 11th and will run for 2-cours in Fuji TV's Noitamina block.

Silver Spoon Anime Latest Promos

Silver Spoon Anime to Air on Fuji TV's noitaminA Late Night Anime Block


It was recently announced that the upcoming anime adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa's Silver Spoon manga will air on Fuji TV's noitaminA block.

This late night/early morning anime block airs every Friday from 00:45am to 1:15am. Most of the titles that aired in this block often last for a single cour (12-13 episodes) but this does not mean that Silver Spoon will last for at least 12-13 episodes since the block aired some titles that lasted for 24-25 episodes.


Silver Spoon is about a bright student named Yugo Hachiken who schemes to get away from his family by enrolling in an agricultural school that requires students to reside in its dorms, only to find it more work than he had envisioned.

The studio responsible for the anime and the release date is still unknown as of this writing.

Silver Spoon Anime Coming Soon


The 2013's seventh issue of Weekly Shonen Sunday announced that the anime adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa's slice-of-life comedy manga series, "Silver Spoon" is currently in the works!

The manga is about a boy Hachiken Yugo dreams of life separated from his family, so he takes the initiative by enrolling in an agriculture school. He thinks, with his talent in studying, no problems will arise no matter what kind of school he attends. He is proven wrong very quickly.

Raised as a city boy, he is forced to uncover the inconvenient truth about agricultural life. Enjoy the story of Hachiken, as he tries to keep up with his new friends, farmers' heirs, who are already accustomed to the harsh world of farming. With no clear goals or understanding of farming life, how will Hachiken survive this new, cruel reality? The story of a sweat, tear, and mud-stained youth begins!

The studio responsible for the anime and the release date is still unknown as of this writing.
