This episode in a nutshell.
We finally learned that the stones that King's father is looking for and the one that he is wearing are some fossilized body parts of the Guardians, which are likely preserved in amber. After learning that Amy's "friend" has one of those, they decided to get it. The only problem is that he is not cooperative about it.
Even though the preview looked like this is an episode focused on Amy, turns out this episode puts greater emphasis on Souji and his virtue of playing fairly. To be honest, I like this approach; it made the series a bit more interesting than your average filler episode. Another thing great about it aside from the Souji focus is Luckyuro once again having the spotlight thanks to his MOTW and how he is easily distracted with things. As seen in this episode, instead of doing the job assigned to him by Chaos, he just plays laser tag.
Back to Souji and Amy, we also learned more about the guest star in this episode. He is arrogant and thinks that the world revolves around him. To put it simply, he is one unlikable character but the way his actor portrayed him made him bearable. It is bearable in a sense that he is one hammy character and showed us how spoiled he is. To me, this is one of the best parts in this episode because as the episode progressed, we see some growth to the character. From that guy who thinks that he is the center of attention, he starts to realize that the world outside his mansion is well, bigger and that sometimes we should do things for the greater good even though we hate doing it. Granted, he still retained his snarky personality of his but at least he is growing as a person.
As for Souji, he didn't have any character growth in this episode, but the episode showed that he is one noble person. He is the type of guy who fights fair and square even though his enemy is cheating on him. He is the type of guy who will save others even though he hates the guy he is saving. To put it simply, he is the opposite of the episode's guest character. The contrast between the two characters and their fights is really great and made me realize that Souji actually has some personality.
For the rest of the team, the only thing worth noting is Utchy's encounter with Dogold in this episode. One thing I noticed in Dogold in this episode is that he sounded happier and if my memory served me correctly, he didn't say his catchphrase, "how infuriating". In addition, just like what happened during the time he used Utchy's body, he also gained some traits coming from Endorf, to be more specific, his weapons. More on Endorf's impact in Dogold, his body is more stable and Dogold starts to think more of plans, something that he rarely does. Hopefully they can expand on that in later episodes.
As for the MOTW, even though he is a mix of two monsters that the Kyoryugers defeated, he is the least interesting MOTW that I saw in the series. Aside that his abilities are not that effective considering that he is a mix of two monsters, to add up the injury, he sucks in using it... well, for the first few fights that is. When he finally discovered how to use it, he starts to fight our heroes with ease. Why I find him not that interesting? It is because of his personality. He acts like a buffoon even though his character design kinda looks like he is one classy looking bad guy.
Finally, the fight, the only thing worth talking about the fights is the new KyoryuRed Carnival finisher for the Macho Carnival combination. Compared to the finisher from the previous episode, it looks flashier. As for the mecha fight, the only thing worth talking about is the scene featuring Gabutyra, Bunpachy and Plezuon in one scene, which is kinda cool. At the end, our heroes got the stone thanks to Amy's "friend" realizing that he should do the right thing and not act like a prick. Back to the Deboth Legion, Luckyuro is getting punished and Dogold wants to keep it a secret from Chaos that Endorf is now his new host body.
