Tales of Xillia 2 Game Ad Posted, Western Release of First Game Confirmed

The "Tales of" franchise's official website began streaming a 15-second television advertisement for their latest flagship title “TALES OF XILLIA 2.” The game took place one year after the ending of the first game featuring new characters!

The story revolves around the main protagonist Rutger Will Kresnik (voiced by Takashi Kondo), his cat Lulu, and an eight-year-old girl named Elle Mel Marta (Mariya Ise). The game features a "choice" theme where players can make decisions using the R1 and L1 buttons to change the course of the game.


Tales of Xillia 2 will be available for 8380 yen, which includes the Tales of Xillia 2 Before Episode novel and artbook by the scenario writer, the alternate downloadable Ludger costumes, and a custom PlayStation 3 theme. A PS3 Dual Shock Controller Bundle will also be available for 12,980 yen.

Namco Bandai Games had announced that the latest flagship title for their “Tales” game franchise, “TALES OF XILLIA 2,” will be released on November 1st in Japan.

The announcement was made during their "Bandai Namco Live TV" event last Wednesday. The "RPG where choice spins the future" took place one year after the ending of the first game. It has also been confirmed that original characters from Tales of Xillia will reappear in Tales of Xillia 2.

The announcement was made during the Tales of Festival 2012 event in Yokohama last June 2nd. The official website describes the PlayStation 3 game's genre as an "RPG where choice spins the future."

Daigo Okumura (Tales of the Tempest, Yumeria game, Elementhunters) is designing the characters, with studio ufotable is again providing the animated sequences. Ayumi Hamasaki will be contributing the theme song.

The main character, Rutger Will Kresnik can use multiple weapons including gun, sword and hammer. The R-LMBS (Cross Double Raid-Linear Motion Battle System) allows the players to "weapon-shift" between dual swords, dual guns, or a hammer nearly instantaneously.

Tales of Xillia 2 will be released this Winter 2012.
