Gatchaman Crowds Second Anime Announced


The production of Gatchaman Crowds' second season has been green-lit under the title Gatchaman Crowds Second. The new season will air on NTV and more details about it will be announced in the future.

The first season is set in Japan in the early summer of 2015. In the series, the Gatchaman are heroes who fight using special suits powered by NOTE and their job is to deal with mysterious entities called MESS.

Imagi's Canceled Gatchaman CGI Film Development Footage


Years after the announcement that Imagi Studios' CGI Gatchaman animated movie is scrapped because the company closed, videos featuring the movie's development has surfaced online.

First is a pre-vis of the movie's chase sequence.


Next is a more polished video, which features footage not seen in the original trailer for the CGI film.


After the polished video is a character study work that uses audio and a scene from the X-Men film as basis for test animation. Before the project was scrapped, the planned CGI animated Gatchaman movie was planned for a 2011 release.

Live-Action Gatchaman Movie to Premiere in the Philippines this October


The official SM Cinema Facebook page announced that the live-action movie adaptation of the popular Tatsunoko Productions anime, Gatchaman will be screening exclusively on SM Cinemas this year!

The said movie debuted in the Japanese box office at #6. The story is about the Science Ninja Team Gatchaman and their battle against the evil Galactor organization who conquered half of the entire world.

Also known as Battle of the Planets or G-Force, the movie is set to premiere in the Philippines this October 2.

Live-Action Gatchaman Movie Debuts at #6


Movie Walker Plus reports that the live-action movie adaptation of the Tatsunoko Production's anime, Gatchaman debuted in Japan at #6.

The film earned 115,650,690 yen (US$1,178,017) on 307 screens. Still on the top spot is Hayao Miyazaki's The Wind Rises, followed by Monsters University and Star Trek Into Darkness.

Live-Action Gatchaman Film Promoted in Latest ACUO Ad


The upcoming live-action Gatchaman film was recently promoted in an ACUO ad, which happens to be a brand of fresh mints advertised by Tori Matsuzaka who plays the role of Ken the Eagle in the said film.


The ACUO ad also features a new scene coming from the movie. In addition to the Gatchaman ad, a 2nd ACUO ad is also featured in the video. Gatchaman premieres this August 24, 2013.

Actor Tori Matsuzaka Now Fully Recovered From Pneumonia


Last week, actor Tori Matsuzaka (Samurai Sentai Shinkenger, Gatchaman) was absent in a Gatchaman stage event due to pneumonia. In his blog entry dated August 13, 2013, he revealed that he has fully recovered from the said disease.

In his blog entry, he apologized for the inconvenience that it made and that he will resume work the following day. Lastly, he thanked his fans for the support they gave him.

Live-Action Gatchaman Cast Performs Wire Stunt in Movie Press Conference


The press conference for the upcoming live-action Gatchaman movie happened yesterday. During the event, the four male members made quite an entrance as they performed one cool wire stunt!

The ones who performed the cool wire jump stunt are: Ryohei Suzuki (Ryu the Owl), Tatsuomi Hamada (Jinpei the Swallow), Go Ayano (Joe the Condor) and Tori Matsuzaka (Ken the Eagle). Sadly, Ayame Gouriki (Jun the Swan) didn't perform the wire stunt in the event.


In the movie, the five serve as agents of the International Science Organization in Tokyo at the beginning of the 21st century. Galactor, a mysterious group whose technology far surpasses that of humans, has declared war on the entire world and has already subjugated half of it.

Gatchaman premieres this August 24, 2013.

Gatchaman CROWDS Anime Trailer


First seen in this year's Japan Expo, here's the trailer of Gatchaman CROWDS, which takes place in the year 2015 in the city of Tachikawa.

The trailer features the G-Suits worn by Sugane Tachibana (voiced by Ryota Ousaka), Hajime Ichinose (voiced by Maaya Uchida) and Joe Hibiki (voiced by Daisuke Namikawa). In the series, the Gatchaman are warriors who fight in special reinforced suits powered by "NOTE," the manifestation of special spiritual powers in living beings.


The upcoming series is directed by Kenji Nakamura (Mononoke, tsuritama) with scripts written by Toshiya Ono (Suite Precure, tsuritama) at Tatsunoko Productions. Illustrator Kinoko for the original character designs and Koji Nakakita (Dancouga Nova) for the mecha designs.

Gatchaman CROWDS premieres this July 12th in Japan.

Gatchaman CROWDS G-Suits Revealed


The official Gatchaman CROWDS website has updated their character page, featuring the G-Suits of the 3 main characters of the series.

The three suits are worn by Sugane Tachibana (voiced by Ryota Ousaka), Hajime Ichinose (voiced by Maaya Uchida) and Joe Hibiki (voiced by Daisuke Namikawa). The three main Gatchaman suits are designed by Koji Nakakita (Wandaba Style, Dancouga Nova). In the series, these suits are powered by "NOTE," the manifestation of special spiritual powers in living beings.

Taking place in the year 2015, a council has scouted a group of individuals with latent powers to protect Earth from alien criminals. In recent years, the council has assigned Gatchaman warriors to deal with the mysterious entity known as MESS.

Gatchaman CROWDS premieres this July 12th in Japan.

Sentai Filmworks to Release Science Ninja Team: Gatchaman in BD & DVD


Sentai Filmworks will release all 105 episodes of the classic Tatsunoko Productions anime, Science Ninja Team: Gatchaman in both DVD and Blu-ray formats for the first time this October!

Gatchaman previously aired in the U.S. as the heavily edited Battle of the Planets and later, as G-Force. The release will feature Gatchaman in its uncut glory and features Japanese and English audio tracks and English subtitles.

Live-Action Gatchaman Movie Latest Trailers


The full trailer of the upcoming live-action Gatchaman movie has surfaced online. In addition, the rock band BUMP OF CHICKEN will perform the movie's theme song, "Niji o Motsu Hito".

The movie stars Tori Matsuzaka (Samurai Sentai Shinkenger) as Ken the Eagle, Go Ayano (Kamen Rider 555, Rurouni Kenshin) as Joe the Condor, Ayame Goriki (Mirai Nikki, Black Butler) as Jun the Swan, Tatsuomi Hamada (Ultraman Zero, Gokaiger vs. Gavan) as Jinpei the Swallow and Ryohei Suzuki (Hentai Kamen) as Ryu the Owl.


In the movie, the five serve as agents of the International Science Organization in Tokyo at the beginning of the 21st century. Galactor, a mysterious group whose technology far surpasses that of humans, has declared war on the entire world and has already subjugated half of it.


A mysterious crystal-like object called a "stone," is humanity's only hope. Those who are able to draw out the power of the "stones" are forced to train as Earth's ultimate weapon, a five-person team called "Gatchaman."

The movie will be directed by Toya Sato (live-action Grave of the Fireflies, Gokusen), Yusuke Watanabe (Gantz, Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods) will write the script and Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed) in-charge with the character designs. Lastly, Takashi Yamazaki (Space Battleship Yamato) is handling the visual effects.

Gatchaman premieres this August 24, 2013.

Maaya Uchida Stars in Gatchaman Crowds Anime


The official Gatchaman Crowds anime website announced that Maaya Uchida (Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!, Unofficial Sentai Akibaranger) will be play the role of Hajime Ichinose, the show's main character!

Hajime Ichinose is a powerful and energetic girl with an artistic spirit. She is strange, but in a good way and has a passion for stationery goods. She is put under the responsibility of Sugune, but usually goes against him and acts on her own. However, she greatly affects the world and her team members when she does something that results in something that has never been seen in Gatchaman activities in the past.

Other characters in the upcoming anime are Sugune Tachibana, a samurai boy and member of the G-Team for 5 years who acts as Hajime's superior and Jou Hibiki, a member of the G-Team for 10 years and part of Tachikawa City's Living Safety Department. Both characters are interested in Hajime.

The official live-action Gatchaman movie website began streaming the 30-second trailer of the movie. The movie will premiere this August 24.

The movie stars Tori Matsuzaka (Samurai Sentai Shinkenger) as Ken the Eagle, Go Ayano (Kamen Rider 555, Rurouni Kenshin) as Joe the Condor, Ayame Goriki (Mirai Nikki, Black Butler) as Jun the Swan, Tatsuomi Hamada (Ultraman Zero, Gokaiger vs. Gavan) as Jinpei the Swallow and Ryohei Suzuki (Hentai Kamen) as Ryu the Owl.


The movie will be directed by Toya Sato (live-action Grave of the Fireflies, Gokusen), Yusuke Watanabe (Gantz, Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods) will write the script and Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed) in-charge with the character designs. The filming of the movie began last October 15, and a sneak peak of the movie's behind-the-scenes was posted last January.
