This week's music video is the main theme of the the 2012 remake of the GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka Jdrama series starring Exile's band member Akira. The song is entitled “24karats TRIBE OF GOLD” by all-male unit EXILE TRIBE.

[MV] Takashi Sorimachi - Poison

With the recent release of the first episode of the 2012 live-action adaptation of Great Teacher Onizuka, this week's music video the opening theme of the 1st live-action of the series entitled “Poison” by Takashi Sorimachi.


Takashi Sorimachi also played Eikichi Onizuka in the first drama. In the 2012 drama, EXILE's Akira played the said role and also sang the theme song of the 2012 series.

GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka 2012 Promo

The first promo for the 2012 remake of the GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka Jdrama series starring Exile's band member Akira as the titular character. The series will premiere starting this July.

Miori Takimoto (Higanjima) will play the Azusa Fuyutsuki, and Hitomi Kuroki (20th Century Boys, Dark Water) will play Sakurai Ryoko, the principal who believes in Onizuka's teaching abilities. Click here for the complete list of cast.


GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka follows the story of Onizuka Eikichi, a graduate of a third-rate University and the leader of a motorcycle gang and have a lifelong dream to become a teacher. After being hired by a seemingly eccentric director, Onizuka begins his unconventional way of teaching a hopeless group of troublemakers.

The series will premiere on the Fuji TV network this July 3rd, and will run every Tuesdays at the 10 PM timeslot.

Live Action GTO Remake Cast Photos Unveiled

Above is the latest cast photo of the upcoming GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka Jdrama remake starring Exile's band member Akira (right) replacing Takashi Sorimachi as the titular character.

Included in the photo is comedian Eiji "Sugi-chan" Sugiyama as the hot-blooded P.E. teacher Hajime Fukuroda (center) and Miori Takimoto (left) as Azusa Fuyutsuki.
