A live-action TV adaptation of the The Secret Story of the Creation of Black Jack: From Osamu Tezuka's Studio (Black Jack Sōsaku Hiwa ~Tezuka Osamu no Shigoto-ba Kara~) manga was announced.
In the manga created by Masaru Miyazaki and Kōji Yoshimoto recount the true story on how Osamu Tezuka created the classic Black Jack manga. The authors used firsthand accounts from people who were actually at Tezuka's studio to give their behind-the-scenes account.
The said manga ran in Weekly Shonen Champion, the same magazine that serialized the original Black Jack manga from 1973 to 1978. In addition, the said manga ranked #1 among the "Top 10 Manga for Male Readers" in the 2012 edition of Takarajimasha's Kono Manga ga Sugoi! guidebook.
