One Piece Manga Uploader Arrested
The Shimane Prefectural Police's cyber crime division arrested a 46-year-old male, last July 5th, for the suspicion of uploading One Piece pirate manga using the Share file-sharing software.
The Association of Copyright for Computer Software reported that the local 46-year-old male company worker have uploaded One Piece Volume 65: “To Zero” via Share file-sharing software, without the permission of the copyright holders around April 4th.
During a July 5th search of the suspect's house, authorities seized his personal computer and other items.
Since One Piece Volume 65: “To Zero” was released last February, the manga volume have sold over 3 of 4 million copies printed in less than two months, with over 1 million copies have already been sold in just its first three days on the shelves!
