Hollywood Live-Action Space Battleship Yamato Film Director Revealed

Deadline reported that Christopher McQuarrie (Edge of Tomorrow) is set to direct the Hollywood live-action film adaptation of the classic 70's anime series, Space Battleship Yamato or Star Blazers in the U.S.

McQuarrie will also produce the movie along with Josh C. Kline, David Ellison and Dana Goldberg. McQuarrie will also write the film. In addition, Shouji Nizhizaki and Paul Schwake will be the film's executive producers.

Yamato is set in a distant future, Earth's atmosphere has been obliterated by an alien race and mankind's only hope for survival is a form of alien technology that can deliver a small crew across the universe and back with the means to stave off extinction.

Continuing the tradition of releasing something gold every time there is a new The Legend of Zelda game, game producer Eiji Aonuma announced the special gold Nintendo 3DS XL!


According to IGN, this special Nintendo 3DS XL comes with a special download code for the new Zelda game, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. This special bundle will be available on North America on November 22 and costs $219.99.

Kamen Rider Batton-Line Online PC Game Announced

Bandai Namco Games and Yahoo! Games announced the first Kamen Rider online PC game! This new game is Kamen Rider Batton-Line, which features Riders in a turn-based game.


In the game, players can form a team of Kamen Riders in a form of "figures", to play various missions, as well as battling out other players of the game. To play the game, one must have a Yahoo! Japan account.

Currently, the game is open beta testing, which will end on November 5th. Beta players will receive a Kamen Rider OOO Tatoba Combo figure (★★Cost5).

2nd BBC's Sherlock Manga Adaptation Announced

The December issue of Young Ace magazine announced that the manga adaptation of BBC's popular drama, Sherlock will return to the said magazine.

Jay. is once again drawing the manga, which will come back in the next issue on December 4. The new run is based on the first season's second episode called "The Blind Banker", which is about a secret cipher that portends death.

Sherlock is a modern interpretation of the classic Sherlock Holmes books and short stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as Dr. John Watson.

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years iOS & Android Release Date Revealed

The release date of Final Fantasy IV: The After Years for the iOS and Android is finally revealed. The 3D remake of the said game will be released in the end of November.

The graphics is a refined version of the original engine used in the Final Fantasy IV DS remake. For those who have plans to pick this up, Final Fantasy IV for the iOS is 50% off in the Apple Store.

Batman Manga Japanese 3-Volume Box Set Now Released in Japan

Shogakukan Creative has just published the first Japanese three-volume box set of the Batman manga written and illustrated by Jiro Kuwata (8 Man). The set costs 7,980 yen.

The manga is based on DC Comics' popular superhero of the same name and features the adventures of Batman and his partner, Robin as they fight villains such as Lord Death-Man.

The new box set contains all 53 chapters of the manga, including the color pages from the magazine serialization. It also has Kuwata's essay on his Batman memories and commentary by manga critic Kōsei Ono.

Some chapters coming from the original serialization of the manga were compiled and published in Bat-Manga!: The Secret History of Batman in Japan by Chip Kidd. Plans for an English release of the three-volume box set is still unknown as of this writing.
